Oh yea. An efficient 24 is just what the Bucks would have needed. What you shoot goes on the scoreboard you know? The total points mean nothing. Personally removing 10-15 points with blocks and intimidation also isn’t a factor. Dominance is shooting statistics. If I could get 18-26 efficient points and absolutely no other contribution I don’t even need all time great D, rebounding, and way way more points. Just score what you score at a high rate and don’t have turnovers because you don’t have the ability to be a playmaker. That’s greatness.

This implies he put up an inefficient 50 tonight and it was still the superior option.
Of course an efficient 50 is better than an efficient 24.
If hed dropped 50 on Kobes-Final-Game percentages he’d be on a flight to Phoenix right now for game 7.

Nobody with even the dried out remnants of a brain ever said Giannis sucked. A lot of people on ish did….but nobody rational. ISH is just full of exaggerating, dramatic, childish types who have no concept of nuance. Giannis was gonna be a first ballot hall of famer if he never improved on like 4 seasons ago.

Skill wise, he’s not. He gets away with an egregious amount of travels.
He got so many soft ticky tack fouls called his way last night that put him on the line. When he was physically bullying, with no calls.
He doesn’t have good court vision or a good passer. Scoring at the rim with basically minimal, if any rim protection or physicality out of Phoenix.
Not a lot of craft, nuance and skill to his game. Sincerely.
With that said, his heart is in the right place as a person and as a player. He’s competitive. He gives it his all. He’s loyal to the city and team that drafted him. He’s not a competitive coward with the likes of LeBron and Kevin Durant types. Who whole better more skillful players have terrible intangibles. And KD did out play Giannis in these very playoffs.
Happy for him and Milwaukee. And Middleton for going from G league to reliable all star caliber and second option on a championship team. And for Jrue Holiday.

I remember in that topic thinking “Nobody is this stupid….they couldn’t have been paying attention” so I made like 9 gifs of Giannis being double, triple, and occasionally quadruple teamed on the touch to contrast Siakam getting to play one on one even when Curry switched onto him……
https://thumbs.gfycat.com/BlissfulPoorAiredale-size_restricted.gif
And still these dudes were talking to me about skills and shooting numbers like one wasn’t guarded like an all time great and the other guarded like the other guy in a “Let anyone but the star beat you” situation.
People straight up watched one guy face the most dedicated team defensive effort of the season then clowned him for numbers vs a guy defended like a high end role player.
And these were people telling me and others we didn’t understand the game and let media hype drive perception.
This place never stops amazing me in bad ways.

For the series Giannis averaged 35/13/5 with a TS of 65.8% and 1.8 blocks. That was one of the most epic Finals series ever, especially considering he came into the series with a bad knee.
Making 17 of 19 from the foul line in the deciding game was icing on the cake.

Yea, I remember recently you said Vinny Del Negro was the 90s Spurs second best player. People in the league who play him feel a similar way about Giannis. And I mean he does travel all over the court.
No I said specifically when Elliot was gone to the Pistons he was Drobs second option and at time he often was. It was Drob….Avery who could barely shoot but ran the team, Vinny making plays and trying to attack…old Ellis shooting. Never did I say he was better than Dennis Rodman. Better player and second scorer are not the same thing and that shouldn’t have to be explained.
I watched Vinny trying to press the issue scoring wise for Drob. And in fact now that I look even when Elliot was back there were playoff series he and Vinny scored the same 17 though Vinny in less minutes.
It was a topic specifically about scoring help so obviously Rodman wouldn’t come up. It turns out his scoring peaked when Elliot was there though. Vinny took the second most shots in the playoffs in 96. I was thinking that was earlier. It all runs together.
One thing is for sure….he was a significant part of Drobs scoring help it just depends on when exactly we mean.

Giannis motor and competitiveness is definitely GOAT. His defense was extremely impressive to watch as well, I still don't agree with the whole run people over and take more FTs than the entire opposing team style of offense though.
Everybody was agreeing on it back then in those threads and especially as recently as September when the bucks were humiliated by an underdog heat team. But Giannis did show remarkable fortitude and perseverance in this run. They had a soft lineup of competition... still couldve lost down 0-2. To sweep after that is impressive.

There being many clowns doesn’t make clowns rational.
The idea that an DPOY level defender who is also a top rebounder and creates threes for teammates at a top rate could be bad at basketball because of the method by which he also scores 25-30 a game is just ****ing stupid.
Thats all it is. All it was. All it ever will be.
You can not like it all you want. I don’t like watching how Harden played in Houston. Thousands of miles are between that and being bad….or even average. Or even good.
It was the kinda take that shows people aren’t even evaluating basketball…just looking for pretty scoring.

You knew we were talking about style of offensive play when all that was said. You morphed it into a defense argument because it rustled your jimmies. People are allowed to have their opinions. Wilt openly admitted the way Shaq was called was rigged. Similar situation if were talking offense. Never had a problem with the defense.

People do constantly use the most recent head-to-head result to support their argument that player x is better than y.
Obviously tpols is being a bit tongue and cheek with this bump, but it is the exact argument people often use and it's a terrible one. Philly fans go crazy for instance when Joel gets a home regular season win vs Joker and they act like thats the clincher on the comparison. And in myriad other cases people shamelessly push an agenda thru such simplistic reasoning. Xiao does it of course. And on and on down the line. Probably MOST people do it.
So those people should all be admitting Siakam >>> Giannis.

The best ability is availability right?
Siakam actually playing while Giannis doesn't , in the playoffs of all times, should be highly relevant.
This is a stain on Giannis and elevates Siakam. Plus Giannis has missed a considerable amount of playoff games over his career compared to Siakam.
Playing more games than opponents should be taken into account when subjectively measuring who is better at basketball.

Siakam has been a great NBA player. Six straight seasons with over 20 PPG. I feel like though he doesn't have many years left. He came into the league late at 22 and he's 31 right now. He's one of those players that oftentimes gets the responsibility of being a primary option when in reality his ability and talent is of a secondary option. The year he won Most Improved Player was the championship year with Kawhi. This year has been his most efficient playoffs so far of his career.

Stop. You sound about as dumb as he did when he made that stupid take. You guys act like such weenies for admitting you were wrong with a take.

Giannis still shoots jumpers like a beginner imo

What does it matter? Giannis is on another tier than Siakam. Not even a debate.

Siakam the leading scorer for winning team so far. Plus he somehow totally locked Chet up. That surprised me. Big men have struggled mightily vs OKC. If Siakam can pull this off he the new GOAT.

Siakam in game 7 of the Finals when his team needed him to step up after Hali injury: 16 points. 5-13 shooting. :(

Siakam had an amazing year in 2025 and almost took down a massive -800 favorite as underdog, with his boy also getting hurt. Tough to beat that swarming OKC defense by yourself... Jokic got handled even worse in Game 7 vs them and hes a GOAT.
For now it is Basketball Valhalla for our fallen soldier Spicy P. He took on multiple big war machines as big under dog and fought til the very bitter and long end. As long as you can possibly go without winning the title in fact.
:applause:
All your favorite players got rocked earlier and have been home for months.

siakam had a great year but hes still like a top 5 guy. worse in toronto too but you can argue thats because of nurses system and he was asked to be a true no1
