This was the old gaurds last chance at a title before greek goes to greek god level. His foul shooting, mid and post game were improving but they still weren't there yet. I expect by next year this time greek will be at his peak skill and athletic wise. He'll be even scarier than what we just witnessed.
Meanwhile the players on the 3 teams that are his biggest threat are gonna be getting worse. Kd and harden are gonna be closer to 33 and 34 this time next year. They're both at the age where most players start to decline. Yeah kyrie is still in his prime technically but he's injury prone and who knows what kind of mental state he'll be in this time next year. AD is never healthy. It's 50/50 if he'll be healthy next year and bron is gonna be 37. He can't carry teams like he used to be able to. Kawhi is still technically in his prime but he'll be coming off an acl injury. He didn't look 100% before the acl injury i can't imagine him looking better after it.
After that i don't think there's any threats. Suns will be worse because chris paul is gonna be worse. Luka needs more pieces or different pieces. Maybe the cetics or warriors could have a chance but we'll have to see how klay looks and how tatum and brown progress.
Either way bucs should be favored.

Not at all likely. I put that at maybe 10%. 10% is a pretty big number but that's the best I'm willing to give.

The Nets are by far the best team in the NBA if they're healthy. They demolished the Celtics, and they looked on their way to sweep the Bucks before Kyrie fell. Lakers, also if healthy, are the next big favorite.

Based on the fact that there were like 4 or 5 teams in the playoffs that were better teams than them that all had injuries to their superstar if not multiple stars?
LeBron, AD, Murray, Kawhi, Harden, Irving, Young... there were probably others I'm not thinking of.
Injuries happen every year, that's true, but to star players in particular it was extremely excessive this year.
The Bucks have a good team either way and they very likely will be mentally tougher for having done it this year but the odds aren't in their favor whatsoever for a repeat.

The Bucks also lost the first two games to the Suns in relatively convincing fashion. Stop speaking in absolutes. You never know. I agree the Nets are better but they're not "by far" the best team in the NBA, that's just simply not true. It's false. You're spreading misinformation.

I don't necessarily disagree but again that's a big if. Kyrie is always hurt and kd is gonna be almost 34 with an Achilles injury. Harden injury seemed more unlucky but he's gonna be close to 33 this time next year and he's also coming off an injury that can linger. Betting on the nets to be fully healthy after a 82 game season wouldn't be a smart one. Same goes for lakers with glass man ad and 37 year old bron.

repeating is exponentially more difficult than winning the first one for all kinds of reasons (shortened offseason, teams playing harder vs defending champs etc. etc.)
which is why three in a row is so impressive

Right but 3 of those 4 teams are all players with history of injuries and who aren't getting any younger. I'll give you atlanta though. They're a young team (npi) and they actually had a few key injuries that seemed more unlucky. The other teame weren't unlucky though. The shit was actually very predictable. It's like saying Kanye west was unlucky his wife was a whore

Nets are a much better team than the Suns though. We'll see what happens next PS. Nets better hope they win next year because all their contracts are up for renewal then, that depth they have is going to go.

Portis probably opts out. Tucker is a free agent i believe.
I have to see what they do with their roster before i make that call.

I like your thinking , but I doubt they could pull off a Detroit like they did in a weak era....
(I will say 2-5 years the Bucks will be back in the finals , whether they win or not ... plez see 1970's)

I'll go 50/50
Say that because if, BIG IF, the Nets are healthy they're taking it all. Durant and Harden still have a few more years left in their prime. And Kyrie has more than that. With teams as they are, currently constructed, I believe that's the only squad in Milwaukee's way. LA needs to retool and I don't trust LeBron's age. He'll be 37 this year and every season from here on out will be an uphill climb.
Rumors are that Kawhi wont play much next year. But regardless of that, I like the way Milwaukee matches up with the Clippers.

Nets are the obvious pick for the title next year, but I'm not ruling out the Clippers or Jazz. I think either of those could win it. The Bucks would be my fourth pick behind those three.

That's a fair response but betting odds are wrong alot. Betting odds had their money on a team that couldn't stay healthy and they'll probably do it again.

Idk about repeating but they will be a better team next year than this year.

Clippers can only win if the refs are going to intervene once more.
