When certain Europeans sailed the world and landed in the Americas they thought they arrived in India or somewhere around there like they came full circle. They went west and knew the world was round so they figured after such a long journey they must have hit the indies. So it is extremely ignorant to call native Americans "Indians" when they are really Asians who migrated to north America. But again nobody really gives a **** outside purple haired liberals. Even native Americans don't care much.

Some of these tribes have benefited heavily from these sports teams. Native American tribes will still get tons of money from the Cleveland ownership despite the name change. So the name change is irrelevant. It doesn't stop the support of Native Americans, it only appeases woke Liberals who want to find outrage and controversy where there is none.

Pretty much, in Spanish they call Native American people Indios which is dumb because Indios are from India. There is movement to call them pueblos native, which translated to English is Native Peoples, which I think is much more accurate.
