I hope so. I'm totally all in on the Zion Train. I've even bought his rookie cards. But on topic, all the Elite talent were able to get their teams to the playoffs by year 3. Although, to be fair Zion probably has only played a combined 1 season due to first year Injury and 2nd year covid bubble. But that's just making excuses.

They are really turnover prone and very poor on defense as well. I guess these are related.

The grizzlies were 6th on defense and worse on offense than NOLA this season. Great impact from morant

If somehow they get a good player, this coming draft, they might get a chance.
But their pick is kind of low to get a good one.
And looking at their roster, that is a bunch of B- and C+ players.
I think they will finish 11th or 12th in the West.

Team is ****ed. They’ll win some games because they have good individual players. But it’s poorly constructed.

They need floor spacing, spot up shooters and guys who play well off the ball. They have four guys in Bledsoe, Ball, Zion and Ingram that aren’t really off the ball players, they’re creators.

I’m an Adams fab, but They need a better fit at the 5 alongside Zion. They need either a stretch 5 to pull the opposing big out, or they need a rim protector. Adams is neither.

Bench is young energetic but inconsistent.

Green is like the team - unproven. Could go either way.

They need to make a major move to create something that works IMO.

Agree about Adam's, he doesn't fit with Zion.

Getting rid of Van Gundy was the best thing for the team. He's a terrible leader and doesn't galvanize his team.

Zion needs to get in better shape. I don't know if he lacks dedication but he clearly could lose a good 20 lbs. But I am shocked at how much he improved his iso skills with a live dribble. He's already able to break defenders down in the half court. I thought it would take him a couple of years to get there.

Zion is Giannis without the defense or rebounding. For it to work the Pelicans have to construct a team around him the same way the Bucks did. Shooters. Defense. Floor spacing big man.

They need to play through Zion even more and create space with shooters. Otherwise teams are going to start building a wall and forcing outside shots from Zion.

Much of their issues are defensively and chemistry. The pieces just don’t seem to fit IMO
