Pat Connaughton was clutch, I will give you that. All his playoff numbers showed an increase in play, especially in the finals and hit timely clutch shots.

Having said that, Kevin love still has two more all nba 2nd teams then Kyle Lowry. That's pretty sad actually. Love also has also a better peak in 2014 that year with adelman hahahaha

I still take 2019 kawhi over 2016 LeBron without question. Pretty much beat the same warriors team but had like a 10x harder eastern path of embiid/butler/yannis

The narrative that Lebron can't win without superteams is pure nonsense. Other than 2011, James didn’t play on any super teams and even that year, the role players were abysmal though the Finals is on LeBron’s shoulders.

super teams right? The Cavs “super-team” from 2015 to 2017 was 4-23 without LeBron, 4-11 with both Kyrie and Love playing.

Cavs and super team

1. Playoff series won by Kyrie, Love, Bosh, and AD without James:

Kyrie: 6 seasons played, 1 playoff series win

Love: 9 seasons played, never made the playoffs

Bosh: 9 seasons played, 0-2 in playoffs series

AD: 7 seasons played, 1 playoff series win

Played two seasons with a healthy Wade who was nonetheless in decline starting as early as 2012 and then the Heat were better with him off the court in the 2013 and 2014 playoffs. And in 2011, the closest thing to a superteam, the Heat had the worst supporting role players.

2. Cavs were NEVER a super team.

Kyrie + Love on the court, LeBron off-court, 2015–2017

539 minutes, 1181 possessions

108.0 ORating
110.6 DRating

Nice “Superteam”; they were -2.6 per 100 possessions, equivalent to like a 35 win team at best without LeBron. Notice that the offence didn’t collapse because “LeBron controls everything” or “the team is built around LeBron” but the defence was trash. 108 ORtg is good enough to be a top 10 offense in 2015 and 2016 and just below league average in 2017. 110.6 DRating is complete garbage.

BTW, LeBron on the court and Kyrie + Love off the court.

1313 minutes, 2572 possessions

110.4 ORating
105 DRating

He did just fine playing with Delladova, Tristan, Shumoert, Jefferson, Frye, Mozgov, etc.

Man, LeBron sure did play on some super teams.

2014 Heat were -.5 per 100 possessions without him on the court, -6.4 in the playoffs
2015 Cavs were -5.8 per 100 possessions without him on the court, +.8 in the playoffs
2016 Cavs were -4.7 per 100 possessions without him on the court, -6.4 in the playoffs.
2017 Cavs were -8.8 per 100 possessions without him on the court, -17.6 in the playoffs.

Meanwhile, the 2017 GSW were +6.5 per 100 possessions without Durant on the court, +8.8 in the playoffs

2018 GSW were +4.8 per 100 possessions without Durant on the court, +.9 in the playoffs

The 1997 Bulls were +5.4 per 100 possessions without Jordan on the court in the regular season.

1998 Bulls were +1.7 per 100 possessions without Jordan on the court in the regular season, and even better once Pippen came back

Here’s how the Cavs, Heat and Lakers have done without LeBron on-court (everything before from BKREF which uses estimates; everything after from NBA.com. Not a SINGLE one of his teams was a positive with him off the court even the so-called Superteams:

2004: -4.7 per 100 possessions with LeBron off the court
2005: -6.7
2006: -6.3
2007: -2.6
2008: -9.2
2009: -8.1
2010: -5.6
2011: -.5
2012: -4.8
2013: -3.9
2014: -.5
2015: -5.8
2016: -4.7
2017: -8.8
2018: -1.3
2019: -5.6
2020: -1.9
2021: -1.9

The playoffs are even worse.

You are right. There has in fact never been a superteam in NBA history ever. Even the mighty Warriors superteam was 24-23 minus Curry

Yeah you're right, coastal guy, LeBron has never had any help....he's done it all himself.

Fantastic thread

The Warriors in 2019 were no where close to being the same as the 2016 version. But yes, Kawhi did have a much tougher path to the finals than LeBron did. You can also argue however that he had a much better team than LeBron did.

Except the 2019 warriors team kawhi played was missing its second best and most important piece from that 2016 team...as well as other important pieces

Kawhi played a decimated Warriors team and you know it

You're lying like a bron stan....AGAIN

Giannis had a better team around him than Bron in 2016 vs a 73 win super team.

I can't.believe bron won 2016.

Those Love years in Minnesota were golden for fantasy teams, never watched a single second he played there, but was grateful for years of empty stats piling up.

I LOVE insecure threads like these.

why didn't OP show Pat C's career playoff record ?? (he played for Portland) as well as my Bucks.

Love was a starter , and his role was far different then Pat C's.

I'd take both players in their primes.
Pat C. most typical fans don't know about.
Pat was a multi-sport athlete , and could of easily gone away from BBall.
At one time his vertical jump was close to 48". He can throw a football 70 yards.. as was an excellent baseball player.
Most importantly he excepted his place on the bench and is (as well as Portis) the bench brigade for the Bucks = high energy.
