Do you rank him up there with Hakeem for example?
Better than Duncan?
KG?
Best defender of his era?
Ever?

He's the best defensive player in the league right now and the best two way player. He's absolutely comparable to Hakeem, KG and Duncan in terms of impact and versatility.

He's up there when it comes to impact. I don't know if he's better than Hakeem or Tim Duncan. But they don't play in the same era. But the impact he has with his team is comparable definitely. His athleticism could and versatility is one of the best.
Best of his era I would think. I dunno about the best 1 on 1 defender, but impact is amazing.

His team just lost in the first round. He personally gave up the series-winning basket.
Arent we obligated to claim he sucks and has no business being compared to any past legends?
Thats kinda ISH standard practice isnt it?

Overrated and post like this shows it. Like i have said before. Name one time where Giannis has locked someone up. He's been in the nba like 12 years. Surely, you can name one time if he is who you say he is.
This man is not even in the same ball park as defenders like AD,Kawhi,Tatum,Mobley, and Draymond.

I was actually looking for your post on this matter and couldnt find it so I bumped this one.
It's true we dont really think of Giannis as someone who locks guys down individually on defense the way a prime Lebron or Kawhi or Pippen would. As least I dont remember a time seeing it.
And he averages a very ordinary one steal and one block per game for his career. So I wouldnt say he's statistically the most imposing rim protector.
What exact basis is his defensive reputation derived from? That he looks like he should be a good defender? Are people just assuming it? Are there metrics that clearly put him ahead of the pack?
Im not even saying he is or isnt great on defense, but honestly just curious how other people see it because nothing specific really comes to mind when you think about it. And getting smoked by Reese for the series winning layup kinda puts his defensive reputation under the immediate microscope.
Is this one of those things where weve all been repeating something a bit exaggerated bc it feels like it should be true? Or, if we watched the film close would we see a bunch of stuff hes doing that just doesnt stand out on casual viewing?
Honest question.

He's been one of the top 5 defenders every year. He certainly should be in the conversation for best of his era. although other players have a case for that too.
