First official trade of the day:

Pelicans trade No. 53 pick in 2021 NBA Draft to Sixers (http://www.insidehoops.com/blog/?p=26178)

Only care who the Knicks get... which is likely a role player. Bouknight ain't falling and no one is trading down for 19 & 21 picks.

ABC or ESPN at 8PM ET.

NBATV too, b/c F Disney.

Also, Bkn/Pho trade. Bkn maybe looking to move up w/ their #27 and #29 picks for someone they love and think will be available in the #18-22 range?

With the first pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, the Detroit Pistons, as expected, select Cade Cunningham.

He has serious skills.

Cade getting picked first overall was pretty predictable. Number 2 and 3 picks should be pretty obvious as well. It's interesting to have these three top picks all have so much superstar potential.

Didn't leave her, didn't force an abortion, and about to provide her w/ a great life. Sounds like he's pretty responsible, all things considered. Plenty of 16 y/o's would do worse.

Scoring guard Jalen Green, of the G League Ignite team, to the Rockets at No. 2.

Dr. Cheesesteak
07-29-2021, 08:19 PM
Jalen Green finna bust, b/c he cares more about his "brand" than actually winning.

I talked to a friend about this topic - the mentality of the young players now. Like when Cam Reddish hits a 3 while down 15 pts and acts like he won a title. What the league will look like in 5, 10 years when 80% of players in the league no longer even prioritize winning, just their brand, their stats, etc. At least it'll be the death of artificial superteams, most likely.

Cavs take center Evan Mobley at No. 3 overall.

Won a lot of Pac-10 awards, including the conference's defensive player of the year.

Brings both offense and defense. So many skills.

I’m excited for Jalen Green. I think he has a ton of potential, and I like his mentality. You can tell he wants to be really good and he has all the talent to be that

At No. 4, Raptors take forward Scottie Barnes

Multiple Olympic gold medals already

A defender. Only scored 10 ppg. Unusual for someone with shooting problems to go this high in the draft.

Averaged 14, 5 and 5 at Gonzaga last season

Known as a leader.

Was a football star as a kid too.

I have to hope GSW picks Kuminga, even tho I'd rather have Davion. But Davion would be a bit of a reach. But...reaches are okay these days lol.

At No. 6, the Thunder took Josh Giddey, a guard from Australia

No college. He put up 11, 7 and 8 as a very young pro in Australia's main league, the NBL.

It's still a very questionable pick, all things considered. I do like Scottie's defense but I just don't understand the logic behind taking him if you're Toronto. You already have Siakam, and Jalen along with the other Jalen is considered one of those rare players who will be able to develop very quickly into the NBA. He's not a guy you can pass up on if he's available, especially when you consider the fact that Toronto needs to fill that position. I just don't get it.

Dr. Cheesesteak
07-29-2021, 08:50 PM
cool, Kuminga to GSW, hope he stays. And hope #14 is someone like Kispert or a Baylor guard.

At No. 7, the Warriors drafted forward Jonathan Kuminga, who played for the G League's Ignite team. He put up 17, 7 and 3 for the Ignite.

And with the No. 8 pick, the Magic drafted forward Franz Wagner, from Germany originally, and Michigan for college ball.

Dr. Cheesesteak

Kings better pick Moses Moody. He was born on the day they lost to LAL in Game 6 back in 2002. So he's like the savior of Sac lol.

At No. 9, the Kings picked guard Davion Mitchell. A VERY serious defender. Averaged 14 and 6 assists.

Good pick by kings. I think they should move on from fox and just build around Mitchell and Halliburton.

They won't b/c they're dumb. They wasted their pick for a 3rd young PG to rotate in. Coulda got a shooter to replace the invetiibly gone Buddy Hield, or a tweener like Kispert or Jalen Johnson. But nah...they're gonna just stack PG's for no reason.

Spurs haven't made a good draft pick since kawhi, damn.

Kawhi/Manu/parker were all the best ever draft picks at the spots they were taken.

Not sure why they went from that to getting scrubs like Murray and keldon

Murray, one of the best defending and slashing and handling PG's in the league? Keldon the Olympian?

Yeah, scrubs.

What I don't get is the position. They already have Murray, Keldon, LW4, D White, and Vassel. Do they need another guard? Sure Keldon and Vassel can play tweener F, but cmon, they need a TRUE forward or center.

With the No. 13 pick, the Pacers drafted Chris Duarte, a guard who played college hoops at Oregon. Averaged 17, 5 and 3, and shot well from everywhere.

He's already 24 years old.

The hope is a smooth transition back into title contention. Once the Splash Bros and Dray are shells of themselves, you have Wiseman, Moody, Kuminga, Poole, etc all 24, 26, etc and ready to ball. Being in the same locker room as title winners will help their development so much more, too.

19 year olds in back 2 back lottery picks

By the time Kuminga hits his prime, curry will be a 40 year old analyst on inside the nba next to Barkley hahahaha

I'm talking about Moody. Warriors title chances depend on how Klay comes back and FA either way. It's not like they were going to draft players that were going to be a 6MOTY. Moody is likely going to be a backup immediately.

I'm not high on klay at all but he's like Michael Jordan compared to oubre, so that alone is huge. I expect warriors to be a 55 win team next season. I just figured they would of traded one of those lottery picks for a veteran starter. Kuminga seems like a huge project, I guess preparing for life after curry one day.

They still can. Moody I think is 100% staying. 14th pick, an absolute hooper, studies films, quick learner, has the body, mentality and 3&D to start playing once the season starts. Kuminga is a project, they either keep him or IF a good deal shows up, then trade.

To me the big story for Warriors is FA. Who joins. But yeah, Oubre was aboslute garbage last season. I think in 15MPG, he could be ok. But he had some of the +/- with most 5-man teams he was in last season. Klay is going to be huge presuming he doesn't come back as a broken toy.

Newsflash folks:

Cade is a bad defender

And anyone thinking he's like Penny or Grant Hill - you're dreaming - those guys were explosive and Cade isn't.. Cade is a better version of Kyle Anderson.. he's probably better than Kyle
