Clearly i'd rather get silver. Not sure how this applies to basketball though. There are no medals there's just winning and losing and losing in the finals is better than losing earlier but at the end of the day you still lost. It's better but it's not way better. If 100 runner ups isn't worth 1 chip how much can it really be worth?
