The Houston Rockets traded two first round picks to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for No. 16 to select Alperen Sengun.

The picks are a 2022 first rounder from the Detroit Pistons and a 2023 first rounder from the Washington Wizards.

I think I have never seen anyone look this close to Kevin McHale in the post before. I wonder if the 2 picks were worth it though, even if both are protected in the 1-16 +- range.

If he's a good example of McHale, the skills have devolved from the 80's - nothing yields the best skills like no spacing (80's and 90's)

I just listened to a podcast raving about him not realizing I’d seen this topic and watched that video.

He doesnt look like Mchale but he looks interesting. It’s nice to see a big guy that young who even has interest in playing down there.

I've been high on this kid for a minute. Kevin Love with a better attitude and more refined post game. Real high IQ, great hands, moves well. No teenage big has ever put up as good of numbers in top Euro competition. Elite on the offensive boards.

Look at these clips to the place I skipped to. Does that remind you of McHale?

He looks good in the post but his shots look rushed while Mchale seems much more natural and patient aside from the huge advantage in wingspan that helped a lot in his moves.

I like him a lot and he has done very well so far but there is one thing about players becoming pro at such young age. They peak early. Doncic entered his prime in his 2nd season and that might even be the best version of him. Hopefully Şengün continues to improve.
