Nash was 39 when he was with the lakers. Westbrook is only 32. AD >> Howard at the same age.

This will be Russ' 3rd team in 3 seasons.... nobody wants him. Just like nobody wanted J.R Smith, but James turned him into a champion.

AD and Russ shit on Nash & Dwight. It's only remotely close because '13 Kobe was better than current Lebron (who will likely decline further next season).

It's not that nobody wants him, it's just that his contract is massive and the Wizards are looking to rebuild. Westbrook in his last 20 games of the RS averaged 24/14/14 (17 triple-doubles, even had a 20+ reb 20+ ast game) and the Wizards won 15 out of 20 to get to the Playoffs after being 15 games below .500 over 2/3 into the season due to injuries and COVID. Russ still has it and now he's a 3rd scoring option and hopefully won't have the ball in his hands at the end of games.

No one can predict injuries, especially to a guy like Dwight who's been healthy his entire Orlando career. 2011 Dwight was a legit mvp candidate and one of the best defenders ever.

Yeah, but he had his back injury prior to the trade and was obviously nowhere near AD as an offensive player with his limited range and FT shooting ability. Nash was 38 and had missed the Playoffs in B2B years so he wasn't close to Westbrook's level either. The only argument is that they had Pau too but he had taken a step back the year prior as well. Also, this team will actually have a bench, unlike the '13 team that had Jamison, Meeks & a bunch of D-leaguers. They got healthy towards the end of the season and went on a run but Kobe's injury obviously ended any potential Playoff run they could have had.

These aging Big 3s rarely win anything. Boston's Big 3 was in their early 30s so it worked for one year and then the injuries piled up for them like all the other aging trios. The Lakers' Big 3 has a shot because AD is supposed to be at his peak, so it all basically rides on him being 100% or else it's a disaster like it was this year.

The 13 Lakers were injured throughout. Nash was also 39 and missed over 30 something games that year lol. He got "healthy" just before the postseason, and the Lakers went like 9-2 in their last 11. If Kobe never tore his achilles, who knows what happens.

Which brings up the question. Is 39 year old nash more impactful to his team playing 30 games than current Westbrook playing all 82 games?

30 games, what kind of great impact when your sitting on the bench injured for the other 51+ games. Oh I forgot Nash has MVP caliper cheer leading skills.

Any washed up Nash would complement Lebron as he can actually shoot and make plays.

Westbrook is the complete opposite of Nash, a shotjacking horrible shooter.

Obviously not. Westbrook just took a team that was 15 games under .500 to the Playoffs by recording 17 triple-doubles in the last 20 games with a 15 - 5 record, Nash was not capable of carrying a team, which is why the Suns missed the POs in B2B years.

You're a clown. Pau missed half the year too. Which means a core of Nash, Pau and Kobe. LeBron fans are lucky as hell they weren't healthy.

2012 Dwight Howard stats before playing with Kobe: 21/15 with 2 blocks on 57% shooting, 24.2 PER

AD stats last year: 22/8 with 1 block on 49% shooting, 22.1 PER

Dwight > AD, this is too easy :oldlol:

In fairness, that team actually had spacing. Not fair to compare the two LOL
Came across a quote from someplace where the Lakers spacing was described to be similar to a child's shoebox

Honestly these trolls probably are mentally unstable, probably most of them locked up in their room because their parents are too ashamed of them. They get off when they troll people online because their life is shitty. Nobody to talk to, so they have to troll just to have someone respond to them and have them feel "special". If we just read his posts but dont comment he will slowing go away.

Shaq, Rose, Westbrook.

Anyone else play with someone like that for more than 15 games.

Some of these super teams formed today really put that 2012-13 lakers team to shame. It really exposed that laker squad as a fraudulent ‘super team’ now knowing what we know: Nash, Gasol and Dwight all significantly declined before that season started. So it is a miracle Kobe dragged them to the playoffs and probably would have dragged them to the finals had he not had a career ending injury.

They were a championship-caliber team but only if they all stayed healthy, which obviously did not happen. Nash and his back-up missed 32-37 games each, Gasol missed 33 games (his back-up, Jordan Hill, also missed 53 games) & MWP tore his meniscus (he was washed to begin with), so for half the season Kobe & Dwight played with Jamison, Meeks & a bunch of D-league level players like Chris Duhon, Darius Morris, Devin Ebanks, Robert Sacre, who actually started games and played significant minutes because the Lakers had no point guards nor Gasol, who were all injured at the same time, which is why they had to play perfect basketball post-ASB in order to make the Playoffs, but Kobe's injury obviously ruined the entire season when it looked like they could win it all as they were getting healthy towards the end of the season. It was much harder to construct a "superteam" at the time because it was before the cap increase, so if you had three stars and none of them were on rookie deals, you couldn't afford to have a quality 2nd unit. The Heat obviously could because all 3 took a pay cut in order to make it work.
