How many players have been ever been the *undisputed* best player in the world?

I'm not talking about the consensus best. I mean players who every rational person agrees was the best in the world for some length of time.

eg. mid 80s Bird, early 90s Jordan, early 2000s Shaq, early 2010s LeBron.

I don't think there's many.

Kareem has to be on that list for the 70s I'd think.

By that standard, no one. Even early 90s Jordan was not undisputed.

Except when he faced, Diaw, Terry, Kidd, Marion, Iggy, Kawhi, Butler etc

in order to have an argument for undisputed best player you need non fans of that player to majority wise say you're the best

not too many NON lebron or duncan fans were saying either guy was better than kobe during the 2000's

ask 100 people on the street who the best player of that era was and 90 of them will say kobe lol.. the other 10 will say shaq

people know lebron wasn't a real threat till 2012

This is pretty accurate, I would also add Kareem from '71-'80, but Walton gave him a run for his money in '77 & '78.

heres the flip side if people wanna say kobe was never undisputed best player.

its kind of a compliment. either admit kobe was the clear cut best player or say he played in an era with a dominant shaquille o'neal, a dominant tim duncan and a dominant lebron james

all guys in the top 10 all time

how many other guys are in the top 10 all time and in their prime during lebrons last 11 years in the league

none really. durant and curry are in the 12-20 range or so

and they got most of their success playing together. without each other does lebron even have a single threat in the top 20 all time

probably not

Shaq in 2000

MJ in 91,92,96

Wilt in 66 67 and 68.

His 1966 1967 season is the goat individual season by a player.

24 PPG 24 RPG 8 APG and over 10 BPG on 68 percent shooting is ****ing insane.
