Who's the better player?? I remembered as a kid having a Eddie Johnson NBA card. He had a couple of seasons in which he averaged 20 ppg Jones was the better all around player.

Idk Eddie Jones and never saw Eddie Johnson play, but he's a legend color commentator... he's been doing the Suns TV games for decades. Although he has rambled a bit too much lately, and he did get a bit homer-ish at times this past season now that the Suns were finally good lol. But I love hearing his perspective as a no-BS former player.

Jones was an excellent athlete and pretty good scorer. He was also an excellent defender, which is something I believe he had over Johnson.

Hard to give a proper assesment when almost nobody on here has seen Eddie Johnson in his prime. Old man Johnson was very clutch and I still remember his 30pt game and then a game winner the next game against Utah.

I remember that as well. I remember him celebrating like a maniac on drugs, lol. Still and all though, Jones was a leader whose athleticism allowed for him to defend and slash pretty well.

Yeah Jones probably was the better player by virtue of being an excellent defender but leadership was probably one of the weakest points of his game as he was deemed unclutch and unreliable by his peers. I remember Shaq calling him out on this and add that to his soft spoken demeanor so he was hardly a leader for his team.
