View Full Version : Only 1 player with 7 all star selections isn’t a hall of famer. About to add 2 more?

Joe Johnson and Lamarcus Aldridge are both 7 time all stars and…I feel like they aren’t going to the hall.
Everyone hates on the basketball hall for being too inclusive so I’m sure not many would argue they should make it…and I don’t expect them to. Had great careers and some totals. Joe made it to 20k points and Aldridge is close enough he would get there in a few weeks of his rumored comeback.
If the hall had an honorable mention wing….they might be in there with guys like Shawn Marion, Lou Hudson(who I thought was in till recently), Jermaine O’Neal, Tim Hardaway(though I feel like he might slip in given time) and Kevin Johnson.
Which of those two guys would most disgust you to hear about being inducted? Who is most aggressively stricken from your personal record book of hall of famers?
I know you wouldn’t vote for either….but which one would you be in the voting room most actively campaigning against just for the sake of the halls credibility?

LMA > Joe Johnson.
Aldridge should make it.

They wouldn't be in my hall of fame, personally. Aldridge could get in if you're going to put in a guy like Kevin Love.
Divac got in with 1 allstar appearance lol i guess because his international play?
Standards are pretty low (grant hill, chris webber). I think all you really need is 5 allstar appearances and 1 all nba first team to make it. Although Webber made it like 6 years after he was eligible due to the michigan scandal i guess.

Hill and Webber aren’t low standard picks by ability. Just didn’t have the careers they could have due to injuries and bad luck. Both were hall of fame caliber players. They aren’t on any kinda shortlist for guys to kick out.

What's crazy is Aldridge made All-NBA 5 times. That's more than Bosh, Brand, Randolph & Boozer combined

If both played with MVP quality players in their prime along win with them. They would be shoe in.

They needed someone like Giannis or MJ to carry them to a few chips - then they'd be shoe-ins

I made this thread as an apology to Giannis for being wrong:

but you knew that already.
Unlike Giannis, I never had to make an apology thread for Lebron because that team-hopping bum never proved me wrong - he can't win without a super-team as the clear-cut top producer, nor can he mostly win regardless of cast or coach - bron-ball mostly loses regardless of cast or coach - 20 years has shown us all of these things...

I think LaMarcus will make the hall but definitely not as a first ballot. Somewhere down the line he probably will.

A few days ago , I had mentioned how the words Super Star was abused by the fans and Media and All-star was seldom recognized.
The NBA has many many Good to great players and have had elides behind their name.
Joe Johnson was a scorer , but his defense was always suspect.
Aldridge was fed the ball in Portland so this very good player showed his cred.
(just because of that he should be inducted into the Hall ??/ hell no)
That would be like K. Irving feed the ball 90% of the game and scores 50 on average ... does that make him an immediate HOF'er ?
Right now I would NEVER put Irving in the HOF.

He's already proven you wrong twice now. You just aren't willing to admit it.
