View Full Version : Gerald Wallace once averaged 2.5 steals and 2.1 blocks for an entire season

As a 6-7 SF.

4.6 stocks (steals + blocks)

The only SF/PF combo that could best that stock total is Kirilenko; he put up:

4.7 stocks
4.9 stocks
4.7 stocks

For the record, the NBA record for stocks is:

6.8 (David Robinson)

I'd imagine Wilt probably had that beat, but they didn't record blocks back then.

David Robinson was an absolute monster in that 92 season. 4.5bpg and 2.3spg.

Nice. Another notable stocks per game seasons

Mutombo in 96: 6.6 stocks per game
Hakeem in 90: 6.7 stocks per game
Eaton in 85: 6.0 stocks per game
Pippen in 95: 4.0 stocks per game

Jordan had more stocks than Wallace.... as a SG (aka goat) that averaged 35 ppg

I loved watching Wallace play. Him and Iguodala were my favorite players to watch in the late 00s. Both great entertainers.

He was a very electric player, lots of highlights, but he never developed the outside shot needed to be an elite SF in the league.

Funny how LeStatPad can't do these things even though he's supposedly most physically gifted and athletic player in NBA history.

Ironically his teammates (Westbrook and Davis) are more freak athletes than him and it's reflected in their superior stats.

And yet he has more first team all defense selections.

About as much as Gerald had before 2010.

Kind of off topic but somewhat related but Hakeem is 38th all time in SPG at 1.75. To give proper perspective on how much of an outlier that is, the next big on the list is DRob at 113th at 1.41.

MJ had stocks:

1987 - 4.4
1988 - 4.8

MJ also 4th all time in SPG at 2.35 and probably the GOAT shot blocking guard ever along with DWade.

Yet the Bulls had a better defensive rating in 1994 WITHOUT MJ than with him

LeBron's best stock season:

2.9

MJ matched that number 3 times in just SPG.

You are out. Of. Your. Mind. Calling AD a more freak athlete than LeBron. There might be at least a debate between Westbrook and LeBron, but AD?! Take your pills, oh my...
