That will handcuff him to that dead end for the rest of Kawhi's prime. Nice to know he'll never be eliminating Kawhi. In fact, he'll most likely be eliminated by Kawhi 3-5 different series by the time his career is done. Kawhi owns Luka like how Kobe owned Duncan.

Financially you simply cant justify turning that first fat contract down coming off your rookie deal. But I really struggle to see how this Mavs team is gonna get better. It could be a VERY frustrating five years for the young king.

That said, there's always the possibility of forcing a trade in a couple years if need be. So I guess that's at least a bit of a contingency plan.

It's a shame because you'd like to see the team that traded up for him get rewarded, and the Mavs are obviously an org that plays to win and not just generate steady revenue. But... it feels like they're hamstrung and stuck on the treadmill, and could be for a while

Kawhi never had a prime. He had 1 fluke year in 2019.

The normal for kawhi is not playing games.

Sounds like he'll be the next Chris Paul. Put up a bunch of meaningless fancy stats. Make half a billion dollars but never win jack shit. Hell, he can't even beat Patty Mills while playing for his country hahahaha choker

Oh yeah 2019 when he backdoor swept Giannis and completely shut him down when defending him, i remember that.

Which retired players have actually had a prime according to your retard logic? I'd like to compare Kawhi to them at the same age.

2014 finals was fax.

24PPG on 69% FG in 3 straight wins.

Now go bend over for Devin Booker and get the hell out of here.

Kawhi went to the eastern conference and did in 1 year what Lebron took 9 years to do. Remember that you piece of shit.

Since he'll will probably miss next season, this will be Kawhi's most notable moment of his Clippers tenure

That choke by Kawhi has no equal in NBA history.

To blow 3 straight double-digit leads in games 5 6 and 7 and ultimately as a result end up blowing a 3 1 series lead is just a disgraceful chokejob.

And when they had a chance to clinch a trip to the conference finals this year, the Clippers scored 81 points in the 2nd half WITHOUT Kawhi :oldlol: Which is nearly what they scored in the entire Game 7 last year against Denver

Kawhi led all players in production (GmSc) and it wasn't really a choke because no fans and bubble.

Kawhi also still took the series to a game 7 unlike Giannis that same year who got pretty much swept by Miami heat in embarrassing fashion.

Guess what? If giannis EVER meets kawhi in playoffs, he'll sweep his ass too. Just like how he back door swept giannis in 2019 while also shutting him down.

Kawhi has led his team in minutes or GmSc and eliminated durant in 2014, LeBron in 2014, harden in 2017, embiid and butler and curry in 2019, luka in 2020 and 2021.

That's pretty much every single elite player in the last decade. So you have plenty of highlights to go back and watch. Right before kawhi dominates in his 30's and has another 6-8 superstar seasons.

Reportedly kawhi is at the scouting combine and telling clippers who to draft. So kawhi expects to play with these young guys that he's drafting for the next 10 years and all at superstar level.

Expecting Kawhi to dominate in his 30's with his injury history is dumb.

Kawhi's knees are already ****ed and this ACL injury might make them even worse.

Nonsense. Luka will be underpaid relative to his performance, not the mention the fact that he has averaged 33.5 ppg in the playoffs against the Clippers.

Paying KP $100 million over the next 3 years is the one that hurts.
