He's been a highlight reel in the summer league so far. :applause: I know it's just SL so it doesn't mean shit 99% of the time, but there's a lot to like about this kid. He's extremely physical and athletic, and he loves bullying people. Seeing a lot of early Giannis flavor in his game as well. His pump fake is already good, though his shooting and decision making needs to improve by a lot. But he's doing a lot of different things well. Heard he's coming up at the gym at 7AM every day to work.

From what I was told, I expected him to be a complete non-factor this season unlike Moody, whose a 3&D guy that plays like a vet. Moody will easily slot into the team and work well as one of the 8-9 man rotation. Kuminga is far more raw and erratic, but his ceiling looks absurd so far. Even though he's lazy as hell at times and misses a play, his D when locked in impressed me. Unlike Wiseman, he seems to have the feel of the game much more.

Yeah, midget version of Giannis is what i saw. Not really Kawhi. He wont actually hit his prime for at least 3 more years though or longer.

Btw, 3ball was the 1st guy on the Kuminga bandwagon back in July of 2019:

the mods changed the thread title - it originally was just "kuminga"

i watched him for a few minutes and noticed that he had all-time hops every way you can imagine - right leg, left leg, lean-in jordan-style, straight-up dominique style - he's a special athlete

Kuminga bullied Barnes like a little boy on several possessions in that game, but who cares about the stats - it's summer league - there was so much to like about Kuminga in that game, that Curry raved about him to Bob Myers during the game:

It's his teammate. What do you expect Curry to say?

5 out of 17 FG

He posted him (Barnes) up once in the 1st quarter then made a three on no one called Barnes. Stop watching the box score. Watch the games.

That's how you play with your son... Barnes is a role player - he won't average double-figure points and got destroyed in this game.

Otoh, Kuminga showed so many things that he got Curry's seal of approval

2 for 8 FG and got injured as well.

We are talking about a guy who scored 18 points and added 10 boards and 5 dimes his first summer league game. You don't know nothing about basketball.

Box score watching, didn't see the game. Kuminga was the best player that game by far, even with his bad shooting. Barnes will look better under better players, but Kuminga has legit star potential. Barnes seems like an elite role player you want as a 3rd/4th option of a championship team if he develops well enough.

Kuminga is my congolese brother but you are wrong about many things. I've been watching all the games. Like I said, Barnes injured himself and basically was not the same. 6"8 6"9 with a 7"3 wingspan. You can't teach this type of size.

He's actually 6'8" and he can still grow since he's only 18! Giannis grew 2 inches after he was drafted.

Warriors fan thinks guy his favorite team drafted is the steal of the draft? After summer league games?

Oh wow

Like this doesn’t happen to every fan base every year.

Means absolutely nothing

He's definitely going to bully the shit out of the league with his physicality. I can see him getting benched by Kerr in the first 2 years a lot after some dumbass play though, he's extremely erratic as a player. But again, he's 18 & I heard he started playing basketball very late.

Yeah. Moody will contribute as a rookie though. His ceiling is Middleton. Would be amazing if they got the next Giannis and Middleton in the same draft.

It seems that this draft is stacked. This kid has the athletecism and body to do whatever he wants on the court. It will be interesting to see what direction his game goes and how the Warriors develop him.

Still think the Warriors should package Wiseman + Wiggins and grab someone with experience to play next to the splash bros
