Kareem should have shaved his head in 1982 instead of 1987, he looks terrible with that hair.

Does Ralph Sampson deserve to belong in the hall of fame?

4× NBA All-Star (1984–1987)

NBA All-Star Game MVP (1985)

All-NBA Second Team (1985)

NBA Rookie of the Year (1984)

NBA All-Rookie Team (1984)

Points 7,039 (15.4 ppg)

Rebounds 4,011 (8.8 rpg)

Blocks 752 (1.6 bpg)

If Ralph got into the hall of fame then i would fully expect Rose to get in one day as well.

Did you know someone can get into the Basketball Hall of Fame without scoring a single point in the NBA?

Just ask Oscar Schmidt

Oscar Daniel Bezerra Schmidt

A five-time Olympian, and the all-time leading scorer in Olympic history with more than 1,000 points, Oscar Schmidt was always quick on the draw. He never hesitated to get his shot off, and when he was in the gym, he was in range and rarely missed. His greatest successes came in the South American Championships winning three golds and three silvers. The big Brazilian was like a guard in a power forward’s body, and he ran and jumped with equal prowess. His rebounding was overshadowed by his ability to put the ball in the hole. His passing made him a complete player, a Brazilian version of Larry Bird. In 1987 Oscar led Brazil to the gold medal at the Pan-American Games when he scored 46 points against the United States.

Stretch our timelines out 200 years and nobody remembers any of these guys. The only guy whose name might still be around... maybe... is Jordan. Stretch it out 300 years? Nobody cares. Hall of famers though... lmaooo...

Yes he does. It was knee injuries that derailed his career. He was awesome when he was at his best.

Ralph's unthinkable game winner at the buzzer against LA in 86' playoffs, is the best one I've ever seen.

So, this photo was taken at the 1986 All-Star game.
I wonder how people perceived the players in the photo at this time (minus Kareem, his career was already etched in stone at that point.)
Worthy, Ralph, Clyde and MJ were all youngsters in the league. But who at that moment was considered to be the guy to take over the league in the next decade?
Remember, Jordan was hurt this season and didn't come back until late in the year.
Ralph was on his 3 trip in as many seasons in the league.
James Worthy had been to the Finals every season so far but this was his first mid-season classic.
Clyde was a wild card. Everyone here was a number one draft selection and/college player of the year.
Clyde was picked middle of the pack and started off slow his fist season and a half.

My take would be Sampson at this time in 1986. But who knew he would peak in 1986 and it would be him the one with a injury riddled career and not Jordan the guy who broke his leg...

I wonder what would have happened in that off-season.
