Kobe has a shocking decline in game sevens and elimination games compared to other all-time greats so that may be one key reason on why he is usually not ranked as a top ten player of all time.

Also, another reason might be his finals stats

2000 - 15.6 ppg | 39 fg%| 41 TS%

2001 - 24 ppg | 41.5 fg% | 50 TS%

2002 - 27 ppg | 51 fg% | 62 TS%

2004 - 23 ppg | 38 fg% | 46 TS%

2008 - 26 ppg | 40.1 fg% | 50.5 TS%

2009 - 32 ppg | 43 fg% | 52.5 TS%

2010 - 29 ppg | 40.1 fg% | 52.8 TS%

Why do you keep leaving out his TS% for 2000? 41.1% btw

Jerry West rise in his averages all across the board in game sevens and elimination games proves that he did truly live up to his Mr Clutch nickname.

It should be noted that West played one minute before breaking his hand in one of his elimination games. If you ignore that game, he averaged 30.6 PPG in elimination games.

coastalmarker99

West lost 3 game sevens in the NBA finals by a combined margin of 7 points if he had won those game sevens and finished his career with 4 rings.

I think you would see a serious debate between him and Kobe nowadays when it comes to who is the second greatest SG of all time behind Jordan.

Indeed he is.

Indeed he is.

there just was a thread about this. i asked why shaqs 97,98,99 losses are on kobes resume when he was a teenager and not even a 1B yet

and i also asked why it only lists the elimination games kobe faced and not the ones he put on others

and i'm still wondering why kobe losing to superior teams is a big deal. so i made the thread asking why lebron lost so many times to inferior teams/players

the only time kobe lost an elimination game he should have won was in 04 vs the pistons

lebrons done it in 2004 vs arroyo

2006 vs ginobili

2009 vs orlando

2010 vs boston

2011 vs dallas

2014 vs sanantonio

2015 vs an iguodala led warriors? lol

and 2021 vs bookers suns

Kawhi and Jordan would never let their home crowd down and lose a game 7 in front of their fans like those dorks Kareem and Duncan did. Kareem did it in the finals too! F'n bum

Kawhi isn't an all time great. In fact, he's not even a current time great.

What are you stupid? He's the goat. Has more playoff points and finals mvps then Kareem at the same ages.

Who is a current all time great? Chris Paul? Hahahahahhahaha

Top 3 career playoff win share per 48 since the year 1957:

Kawin, Jordan, lebronze

Not an all time great though. His 2 finals mvps stopped two different dynastys and he has led 7 different top 3 SRS teams in VORP if you're a reg season guy. Highest winning percentage for any player ever as well

They'd also never do this at their peak, in a Game 7 as the title favorite in a series they were -1300 to win
