The Germanic people number way more than the Russians. Germans alone are about 150 million, and Russians 134 million. Ethnic Germans are also the most common ethnic group in the United States, about tied with Irish.

Germanic tribes also settled and conquered Spain and Italy after Rome (Goths), so there's Germanic blood all over western Europe...also the Franks in France were a Germanic tribe.

Considering all Germanic tribes as together means you should consider all Slavic tribes as together too.

Spain is interesting because you can trace your roots back to the Romans, Germans, and the Moors. I'm more olive-skinned so I probably have very little German ancestry.

Iberians too mostly, and Celtic tribes

I did my ancestry dna test recently and I'm "48% Spain, 22% Portugal" and I'm white as hell. Then there's 9% France (which could be Celtic Gauls or Frankish peoples who are Germanic) and 6% England & Northwestern Europe. Thats 85% western European.

The last 15 consists of 7% Indigenous Central American (I'm latino), 4% Southern Chinese/Dai, 1% Vietnamese and 3% Bantu African.

I do, as a wider category at least.

Obviously subgroups have created different cultures ie. Serbs, Croats, Russians, Bulgarians, Poles etc

Not to mention that eastern Europe has Baltic Germans in the former Soviet Baltic States. The Dutch are cousins to the Germans. Not to mention the Nords. The English by and large descend from the Germans with many being more than half-German.

Yeah, Spaniards trace their trees back eight generations because they consider everything within eighth cousins (36 removed) to be their family. It's the law of Spain. There's no stricter nation in the world regarding this, in fact most of the rest of the world finds it quite overbearing. Laws governing cousin marriage vary by state to state in the United States, but most forbid marriage of first cousins (8 removed) and allow anything less related.

There's more German-Americans as an ethnic group in the United States than most of the races, including blacks, Asian-Americans, Native Americans, Pacific Islanders, maybe Latinos.
