I have to be honest, Kawhi is not a top player. In San Antonio, he was surrounded a BIG 3 with an amazing coach so he got his ring there. In Toronto, you put a young TMAC or VC on that team, they would have done the same and won the championship.
The Clippers are going to regret signing him long term, he already isnt playing this season and his locker room intangibles are below average. In my opinion, all players mentioned are better than him. Watch the below video to understand people!!!

Don't you dare say those overrated ****s in TMAC or VC would have won the Championship if they replaced Kawhi in Toronto that season.
Kawhi Leonard was a monster that entire postseason.
He dominated all facets of the game for four straight rounds, averaging 30.9 points, 9.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.7 steals per game on a TS of 61% for the playoffs.

Wtf . Young Vince or tmac wouldn't have. And clips were on pace to win this year before his injury

Kawhi's stats in the Mavs series this year.
32 PPG /7.9 TRB /4.6 AST /2.3 STL /1.0 BLK on 61/42/89
Kawhi had a TS% of 72.3 in that Mavs series which is insane.

Peak for peak I would put him above Wade, Dirk, CP3, Westbrook and Iverson I think, especially because of defense and/or the playing style of these players.
Harden’s and T-Mac’s peaks were insane.

Probably just CP3 and T-Mac. Although its close with T-Mac.

Offence is a trickier debate but include defence it makes alot of the comparisons easier

He definitely peaked higher than CP3 & Westbrook. McGrady would have one season you could argue. Harden's definitely debatable but he simply is not in the same stratosphere as a defender and is clearly the worse playoff performer. Iverson's inclusion is a fcking joke :lol
The only players you mentioned who clearly peaked higher than Kawhi are LeBron, Shaq & Duncan. Even if you think those other guys peaked higher, '17-'21 Kawhi is definitely in the same tier as them or at the very least is debatable
That HBK guy is a fakkit, but when healthy Kawhi's been legit the last 5 seasons
Is this for one entire season - regular season and playoffs? I tire of these Finals where one player has 3 good/great games and it's like it covers/blankets the whole season (you know, like 2014).

However you want to define it.
For me I ask myself who do I think was better at their peak. Not necessarily for a specifically defined time period.
I agree, often a player will have one or two great playoff series, or even one or two great playoff games, and people judge their whole peak based on it... case in point Kawhi Leonard

I would say he's #1 and above all those guys.
11.0 BPM from 2016-2021 playoffs
Goat scoring title playoff run 732 points on 62% TS
Goat defensive title playoff run in 2014
Leader in points or minutes or GMSc and eliminated pretty much any star you can think of (LeBron Durant harden curry, giannis, embiid, luka)

He led the spurs in production (GmSc) in the 2nd round and finals, he also led the team in total VORP in reg season and playoffs.
During the 3 straight wins in finals over heat, kawhi averaged 24ppg to Duncan's 12ppg

Kawhi's peak was really high, although he often underperformed in RS.
Obviously he is not on the same tier as first 6 players on the list + Dirk and KG.
On the other hand his peak is clearly better than AI, T-Mac and Westbrook.
So the real list of players we discussing here is: Giannis, Wade, Harden and CP3.
I would put Kawhi ahead of Harden, who is great, but had his struggles, especially on D. And ahead of CP3, who is consistently great player, but have his ceiling due to his height.
I think Wade - Kawhi is a draw. I can't really say that one is better than the other beyound reasonable doubt.
And I think Giannis already a tad better than Kawhi ever was, and he's not even best version of himself yet.

Is 2017 MVP Westbrook his peak? I know it didn't amount to anything in the playoffs but that was a helluva peak.

Yeah that’s clearly his peak. The one year he could shoot 3s too lol

What I never understand is why 09 Wade's peak gets talked about so much in a positive light vs 17 for WB. I get you have to take into consideration stats are easier and Wade's defense. But defensive stats were easier in 09.... Neither did anything in the playoffs. To me, they're about equally impressive with the slight not to the Brodie.

FWIW, I don't think Kawhi's peak was higher than any of these players. I think it is clearly lower than the first 12 on the list. The only real controversy there might be Harden.
Regarding the last 3 names... think back to what T-Mac was doing c.2003. Sure he never got out of the first round, but who the hell would have with Drew Gooden as their 2nd best player!? Certainly not Kawhi!! I think AI and Westbrook's peaks compare favourably also.

If we only got some version of 03 Tmac up to 2010 or so....man we were robbed. Dude was 23 for the 2003 season, imagine him around 2006/2007 with a good back.
