2019 finals mvp - he scored 732 points on 62% TS, which is the highest total scoring\TS combination for any player during a championship run. He guarded Giannis, shut him down and backdoor swept him, he made the only game 7 buzzer beater in history in the 2nd round and averaged 34PPG that series, he eliminated Curry\Draymond the duo of a 73 win dynasty. Took a team that has never been to the finals and with a rookie coach to the championship.

2014 finals mvp, he shut down Lebron James in 2014 and averaged 24PPG on 69% FG for 3 straight wins, led spurs in minutes over the elimination of durant\westbrook, led spurs in GmSc over eliminations of Lillard\Aldridge. Spurs were losers in 2008-2011 before drafting Kawhi.

- top 3 career playoff win share per 48 since 1957

- eliminations of LeBron durant curry giannis the 4 other best players of his era and kawhi was always leading in at least one of minutes or points or GmSc

- 2 defensive player of the years

- 2 finals mvps stopping two different 3pears

- best scoring title run 732 points total and 62% TS

And he has also eliminated luka twice

Any team with kawhi should be the title favorite but their not necessarily all good enough. 2017 and 2021 he wins if not for getting cheap shot, 2020 he was thrown in the bubble, 2016 Duncan averaged 4 points

So he could have 4 or 5 rings if not for cheap shots and terrible play. He has never had below 10 playoff BPM since 2016 outside of the bubble

Hell NO!!

He is a horrible locker room player, does not elevate the players around him, very selfish on and off the court and is not even in the top 50 players right now!

"Not top 50" is another extreme opinion that is simply not true.

Kawhi is 25th in ESPN top 74 and that is quite accurate. He had around the same career as Dwane Wade (#26), who was also never all that close to be MVP of the league, but accomplished a lot in the playoffs, getting 3 championships as best or close second best player.

If Kawhi have 3-4 very good runs in him, he can get in the top 20, overcoming Barkley, Admiral, Baylor, Pippen and KG in the process.

not sure if OP knows that this rapt'er couldn't carry a Clip team in the 4th qtr , bad hip and now a knee with a brain that can't talk...

Nope he is not a goat by any stretch.

Kawhi is definitely not top 25 yet. Maybe in 3-4 years. He's injured all the time and modernized workload management, the most beta introduction aspect of the game add this century.

His longevity is shit, he's spent the bulk of his prime being injured

If he didn't get injured back in 2017 he had a chance to be one of the GOATs

He's still a top 4 player in the league today but I feel he hasn't fully recovered from the Zaza incident since it happened

he had the greatest scoring title run in nba history (732 points on 62% TS). Not fully recovered from it though.

longevity he has already passed guys like john stockton and wade for playoff win shares. He is ahead of everyone in his era besides Lebron\Durant who were playing years before him. Relative to his era, he has outstanding longevity and better then Curry\Harden easily.

That doesn't mean shit, bill russell has 0 seasons over 20PPG. He has two finals MVPS in the beginning and end of the 2010s era, that's great longevity.

Having better career playoff advanced stat totals then any guys who was drafted at the same time or after him?

Or more playoff point totals then Kareem at the same ages?

Which one is it?

Kawhi is a selfish rat. He ought to be ashamed of himself after this:

And that was after he deliberately ****ed over the Lakers during trade talks. Previous to that the NBA tried to market him as "fun guy"..."fun guy". Hahahahaha

What a ****in' lame.

Are you for real? Laughable that you could even criticize Stockton regarding longevity:

Stockton missed only 22 games in his 19-season career. In his first 13 seasons, he missed only four games (all in the 1989–90 season) until he missed the first 18 games of the 1997–98 season due to an injured MCL in his left knee sustained in the preseason.

Bill Russell has 5 MVPs, Kawhi zero. Russell wasn't known as a scorer. However he did average 22 rebounds for his career.

Russell played at least 70 games in his last 11 seasons. He played at least 78 games 7 times. Kawhi played over 70 games only twice and has never played 78.
