I've been in and out of the hospital because of my drinking all year long. I just got out monday this last time because I called the cops thinking this man and girl were trying to kill me at my house. I was hallucinating and I know that for sure now as when I was admitted I was still seeing things outside the window like evil creatures and asked my "roommate" if he saw them too and he said no and don't tell anyone that shit because they'll put you in the padded rooms. I was going through delirium tremens which is the most severe form of alcohol withdrawal. Before that a month earlier I was in the hospital and then a care center for 21 days. My mom came over and found me pretty much half dead just staring into space mildly mumbling. I have no memory of this, but I spent a week in the ICU because of acute liver failure. I have all these bad memories of the hospital, but it was apparently hallucinations because it doesn't match up with what my mom tells me. My doctor told me point blank: If you drink anymore you will die. My plan is to go to rehab next week. I already started the process. I've detoxed now and I have a librium (it's a mild benzo that's mainly used for alcohol detox) prescription to keep any withdrawal and anxiety away in the meantime. I'm seeing a hepatologist (liver specialist) tomorrow as a follow up from the hospital. I dunno if he might want to do a liver biopsy or something to rule out liver cancer. When you have cirrhosis you are 40 more times to get liver cancer than a normal person and I already have bad genes from my fathers side as far as cancer goes. I'm hoping the rehab thing works out as I'm only 37 and I would like to see 40 and beyond.

I have a different perspective of this. The OP and you for example humanized your screen names. People troll you about a picture you posted or something you said a long time ago, but there's plenty of people who don't. Those are the posters who will start threads asking about you when you haven't posted in a while. It's like gambling in a way, you're washing away a lot of the good experiences that have come along with sharing pieces of yourself because the bad ones sting and stay with you. Kinda like how every poker player can tell you about every single one of their bad beats and much less about the hands they've won.

I've posted here on and off for the last 15 years, and never left any kind of impression. If I stopped posting tomorrow, nobody would notice :lol
