If you think Steph isn't the undisputed GOAT shooter then you're a fuccin troll, and a very poor one at that.

Now with that said, who takes 2nd right now? Main candidates are Reggie Miller, Klay, Ray Allen, Kerr, Bird and I guess just for kicks lets throw in a couple names like Dirk, Dale Ellis, Jerry West, Korver, etc. stir the pot a little bit.

Personally I'm going with Jesus Shuttlesworth but when all is said and done Klay could climb to #2 on volume alone. What yall think?

EDIT: Wow completely forgot about KD dude deserves to be in the all-time shooter conversation no doubt.

I'm a "Curry hater" and even I would have to admit anyone who says he isn't the best (regular season) shooter in history is either trolling or far too dumb to take seriously.

As far as second greatest, I'd probably have to go with Lebron.

Ray Allen

Ray or Klay.

I dont have the numbers in front of me, but in Milwaukee and Seattle, Ray might have been a better shooter from more areas.

Suppose by that logic, you could also argue Bird and KD. :lol

KD because he was GOAT level from all areas of the floor and is elite off the dribble and off the catch

Was Klay GOAT level from mid range? No

Was Klay GOAT level off the dribble? No

So KD > Klay and Korver when it comes to shooting

This may be weird reasoning but guys like Kerr and Korver don't produce the volume( the former especially) to put them in the same shooting context as guys like Ray, Dirk, Klay, Durant, Bird etc. Kerr is a shooting specialist but dude peaked at, what? 9ppg or something like that? Guys who who shoot with distance at both great volume coupled with efficiency should be viewed differently.

Im so nba'd out

I'd most likely say either Allen or Klay, though you'd have the likes of Reggie, Nash, Bird, Durant & Dirk as legitimate options in the discussion as well. HM to guys like Peja & Price too. I'm not including dudes with low volume like Korver, don't think that's a fair comparison to make with guys that averaged 20-30 ppg consistently.

Personally I'd pick Reggie, and I don't think it's particularly close, although I think Ray Allen might be able to convince me otherwise

after that it's Dirk and Bird

Definitely Klay. He's never shot under 40% on 3 in his career on much higher volume than Ray, Reggie, Bird, Dirk and Durant

Amazing that the Warriors got the 2 best shooters in NBA history within 2 drafts of each other. And Klay's shooting form is better than Curry's

Petrovic is the 2nd best shooter in NBA history. His NBA career was cut short but from a pure skill stand point he was one of the best.

He averaged only 2 3ptrs a game and his highest volume season was only half of Klay's average. His efficiency was only slightly better than Klays.

This is a really good shout he was the best all round shooter in the league in the early 90s. And in 1992 became the best 3 point shooter in the league.

He was probably the most unathletic 25ppg scorer of all time. And he did it 5 seasons in a row.

Problem is historically he gets underrated because he played on teams that we awful defensively and often injury plagued during years that they may have been competitive, so he didn't have any deep playoff runs during his best years.

Also, he injured his shooting hand twice in the space of twelve months in 1993, requiring surgery both times. This was just after he elevated his 3pt shooting to 45%. He never scored the same volumes after that, but his shooting percentages remained near league leading for a bunch more years.

Different era, I don't think you can use statistics to determine who was better. Tony Snell shot .567% from 3 last season but nobody thinks he is one of the best contemporary 3 point shooters. IMO Klay is a great 3 point shooter and worthy of people discussed.

How good of a shooter was Glen Rice?

It weird to me that guys dont consider the totality of shooting and instead just focus on the 3 point shot. Is Bird disqualified from this list because he hit less than one 3 pointer per game in his career?

There's alot of guys who if I needed them to stand in a corner, and hit an open 3 for me that I would take over Ray Allen.

Jeff Hornacek being one. Dell Curry was a great shooter too.

2nd best shooter? Durant
2nd best 3 point shooter? Thompson

Obviously good... but not "enough to bump Lebron from the #2 all-time spot" good.

Klay Thompson. That 2016 playoff game Golden State had vs. OKC is one of the best shooting performances ever. High stakes and on the verge of elimination - and Klay couldn't miss.
