In Jordan's HOF speech, he said that his older brother Larry was the reason why he was such a great b-ball player

Jordan said coming into his junior year of HS he grew from 5’8”-6’3” that summer

And that if Larry had the same luck as him that they would have both been in the league.

“When you say Air Jordan, I’m #2, he’s 1!”

MJ’s 5’8” brother, Larry Jordan, had serious hops as well!

Jordan was the big outlier in the family in terms of height

Everyone in his family was about 5'6 to 5'10

Jordan just straight up hit the genetic jackpot being 6'6 with massive hands & all the athleticism that GOD can give a man.

It makes me Imagine all the MJ-tier (or beyond) dexterity and coordination and creative genius we have missed out on because the barrier to play in the NBA is (effectively) being like top 5% in height (at least).

Obviously, most sports require abnormal athleticism

But I can't think of another popular sport that has 1 trait so massively shaping your potential.

It gives me more respect to those that make it to the NBA at under 6 feet tall.

if you look at guys like spud Webb, Nate Robinson, and muggsy bogues they were freak athletes which helped make up for their undersize.

I admire all these guys for their work ethic.
Yeah. IMO it's so unfair that you have to be physically freakish to compete in professional basketball. I mean, no other sport needs that stuff. What's going on, NBA???
