For me, an example of pure love of the game/mamba mentality was when Lebron got gravely injured by that homeless guy last season, but stayed in the game despite the terrible pain and further brutalisation attempts, just to immediately knock down a 3 and maintain the double-digit scoring record.

My mind was absolutely blown when I saw that. These are the tales you tell your grandchildren, and they don't even believe you when you do. History in the making.

Everybody knows that series was rigged. The Nba had to give one back to the Mavs after the 2006 rigjob where Wade shot 300 billion FTs a game.

How do you "rig" a 6'1 shooting guard nailing a three with a 1st team all defense player right in his face covering him?

I get it. I was shocked by Lebron's resilience too.

Serious answer: Lebron G6 vs. Boston in 2012. Career defining game. He was an absolute killer doing whatever he wanted that game against whoever we threw at him.

Bird checking back into a playoff game with a fractured face.

Then goes on an individual scoring run where he can't miss. He finished with 32-9-7 on 60%FG leading Boston past the Pacers. That was actually an elimination game for both teams.

This.

Probably the most ruthless game I have ever seen.

Didn't speak a word.

Had zero emotions.

When he got the offensive rebound putback dunk over 3 Celtic players and didn't even celebrate.

If only he had that same ruthlessness vs Jason Terry :(

Is that LeBron's greatest game? A lot of fans rank either his 51 vs the 18 Warriors or his G6 vs the 16 Warriors at the top. Both happened in the finals, while the latter propelled a GOAT comeback and FMVP. That Boston game only happened in the ECSF, but then again it was do-or-die. G6 was the "turning point" for Miami, who went on to win a championship (it effectively ended the Celtic big 3 too).

As a LeBron historian, yes that was his greatest game.

2nd greatest game played was 51 vs Golden state.

And game 6 vs warriors 2016

Game 4 vs OKC finals.

Bron can barely walk. Hits a 3 to break the tie and win the game.

Serious though this is my favorite recent example of mental toughness in basketball, being able to come back from a 28 point deposit in 12 minutes like that

D'lo went Mamba mode this game

Nah, it was Game 6 of the ECF. His legacy on the line. A year after completely choking in the Finals, he's now down 3-2 to an old Celtics team. Probably the most pressure on an NBA player of his caliber in the league's history. A loss meant he'd be the laughing stock of the league for years and wouldn't be taken seriously as an all time great.
