View Full Version : Lebron's decline continues, he's going to play an undersized PF this season

Just like 1996 Magic I guess. Davis playing the 5.

6’9 270 so undersized lmao. He’s the same size as Karl Malone.

They're doing this because Russell Westbrook off ball is not a good idea. He's the worst three point shooter probably in the starting lineup if I had to guess. He has to have the ball.
LeBron is declining, as everyone does with age, but this move has absolutely nothing to do with that nor is it indicative of such. OP is retarded.
I like how this thread is supposed to be a slight on LeBron when in reality it's just another shining example of the idiocy of this board.

The way the game is today, his size is perfectly catered to the position.
Regardless, kong is still versatile after all. You can't change that fact.

Royce O’Neal starts at PF for the Jazz, who I’ve been told had the best regular season record, he is 6’4. Lebron will be fine he’s nearly 6’10 and eats guys like O’Neal for breakfast with second helpings :lol

Undersized? Not really he's a standard size for a pf but he would have a hard time defending the better longer power fowards.

The only thing is he may not be used to playing like a big defensively but I don't see many guys that will seriously try to post up on him.

He can still flop his way and pick his spot for stats at the PF position
What does him playing pf (a position he played during his peak in Miami sometimes) have to do with a decline?

It probably has more to do with the current roster. He's giving Russell more ball handling and giving Ariza/Melo time at the 3.

Really?
Lebron playing a traditional PF role, aka off-ball?

Lebron can't get elite stats off-ball - lacks the skill - that's why he's never done it, and that's why no coach ever forced him to play off-ball (less than a point guard hold-time)
So expect Lebron to average 20/10/5 this year, maybe less - LeBosh.

The best lineups he probably ever played in had Bosh at the 5 and him at the 4.

Lebron was never "at the 4", aka a consistent post playmaker
He always brought the ball up.. either exclusively or along with another PG... After bringing the ball up, he would use extended live dribbles at the top of the key - he's never not done this.. ever

He played off-ball/in the post plenty in 2014. Against Indiana in the playoffs I remember he did this more often than not.

I actually looked it up. In 2014 in the playoffs he averaged 6 post ups per game and in 2015 it was 7.
2015 was the most of any non big man, 2014 he was second amongst non bigs to only Joe Johnson.

Bron can play ANY position he wants. Jordan cant.

Plus he hit a bunch of corner threes back in 2014 iirc. Shot a high %

That's how he should've been playing all along. Imagine if LeBron played out of the post or as the roll man in the PnR his whole career... he's stronger than any SF ever. And if you put a big guy on him he'd be quicker. And then the offense would be natural and equal opportunity.

Jordan said after playing point guard for a short ten game stint he was exhausted handling the playmaking and scoring load for his team. Bron does this with relative ease for more MPG over the span of 19 seasons and 10 Finals runs

If Bron ever said he was mentally exhausted from being main playmaker you think I would ever call him the GOAT?

Not really when Bron was drafted pf were Garrett, ZBo and Duncan size. Most of the good power forwards are in the East. Although Zion would abuse him in the paint.

He's always been the correct size for this position. What he lacks is the type of physicality and hunger to go after rebounds without fear of elbows and box outs or attack into bodies (without running starts) for true power finishes in heavy traffic. He played small forward more because of his shyness from getting bruised up than anything else mixed with his lack of post game early in his career.
Now he's got more experience with some post moves so I think he'll finesse it in that regard (which some power forwards are like that) so he'll be fine offensively, but I don't think his rebounding will change much I think he's set in his ways to rebound like smaller players as far as that goes. He'll be good at the position, just not great. He's getting old so it's to be expected.

Lebron averaged as many rebounds as AD while playing PG:roll:
