He actually had a conceivable shot after 2019, but after spending two seasons in the heart of his prime with a top 3 team in the league without even a conference finals appearance, it's extremely unlikely. He'll never sniff MVP, his career totals will look pathetic next to Kobe's, the Nets if healthy will be the team to beat over the next couple of seasons, and the guy frankly seems incapable of staying healthy. If he's having this much difficult staying healthy in his 20's, I shudder to think what he'll look like as he progresses through his 30's.

Hell no.

I don't see Kawhi having more than 15 000 life time points.

Yes, no question. His peak in 2019 playoffs was already higher then anything kobe ever did, matched him in finals MVPS, better defense resume.

career playoff win shares they are 5.77 apart right now. That's about 26-28 more playoff games for kawhi to match him in longevity there as well.

What did kawhi do in the RS? or only playoffs matter to you?

He has the best regular season winning percentage ever.

Leader of VORP on 7 different teams that were all top 3 SRS (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021). He will also end up with 2 defensive player of the year awards and like 15 all defensive team selections.

No. Because he's a quitter. This guy has had everything he has ever wanted in the league, and he is still a quitter. He wilts under the slightest bit of pressure. No-one lets LeBron do what Kawhi does... Kawhi has joined two playoff teams, one made it to the Finals and beat a Warriors team without Durant, and an injured Klay, that title literally no-one respects at all. No-one talks about this... Imagine if LeBron joined a team like the Raptors, and pushed them over the top. People would have lost their minds. He joined a team that went 59-23 and then joined a team that took two games off the Durant, Curry, and Klay Warriors. A team that finished 48-34 the year before... He had quit by the end of his tenure at the Spurs, just choosing not to play, YEAH SURE, LeBron has packed a sook and thrown his toys, nothing like Kawhi has done in his short career though. Game 7 against the Nuggets? 6 from 22, 14 points. Maybe Kawhi wouldn't get injured if he didn't sit out during the season, maybe his team would be an actual team if he didn't sit out games and then expect it all to happen in the Playoffs?

Has Kawhi ever peaked as high as Kobe yet? Has Kawhi won back-to-back Championships yet? Without Durant being injured he has 1 Championship... And we wanna talk about him passing Kobe?

26. Kawhi

If healthy Kawhi would surpass Kobe with relative ease, he is the more skilled player in every facet of the game after all. To be fair, Kawhi never played with a guy like prime Shaq. If we discount Kobe’s roleplayer rings Kawhi is likely just about there.

Once again Shaq is demonstrably proven to have improved Kobe’s legacy beyond guys of a similar skill level such as McGrady or Kidd.

Iverson not in the top 10, list not to be taken seriously

No one of sound mind and intelligence would say that, at this point, that Kawhi will pass Kobe. He would have to string together another 3 titles, at least 1 more FMVP with at least 1 MVP award, quit the load management, and be able to improve his playmaking somewhat to be ahead of Kobe. But right now, it's a flat out no.

He has 7 now at 30 and can barely play 60 games in a season. I seriously doubt he'll have enough healthy seasons to qualify for 8 more all-defense awards. Frankly I seriously doubt he plays another 8 years period if he's having to load manage in what should be the peak of his career.

Is there even a reason for kawhi to play basketball? He needs to just retire

Healthy Kobe was 5/7 in a 10 year span. Health kept him from winning even more. Just a straight up better player, more flexible. Kawhi's best defensive years were before the injuries and superstar scoring responsibility... like most before him. Kobe could get his shot off anytime and from anywhere. Better passer too, and handles. Also more creative, athletic and better leader. Kobe won with 1 knee and 3 working fingers on his shooting hand btw. Kawhi mostly sits or he'll break down, it's weird.

And that will keep his comfortably behind Kobe.

Nah bro, Kawhi will still be making All-Defensive Teams at 38. He might even make the conference finals again at that point.

Kobe stans legitimately believe he was the best player for all 5 of his titles, no wonder they're so delusional :(

Still laughing at 3ball for thinking Kobe was the "alpha" of the 2000 Lakers. Don't remember the exact reasoning, but it was something along the lines of "triangle footwork" lol

He was the alpha because he played well for 2 minutes in overtime

Bronsexuals think Kawhi is better

Who was fmvp in 2014? What did he average? Kobe might have won fmvp too with those 15 ppg (2 points and left the game, then won them a game as 20 year old) if he had to guard lefraud.

Unless he has an unbelievable finish to his career, nah I think it’s highly unlikely he catches Kobe.

Sucks that he got hurt in the playoffs I really think they would of won the whole thing.

Kawhi load managed in 2019, 2014, 2020, 2021 and was still rewarded all defensive selections. It doesn't matter, anybody with a brain knows that he's an elite defender and still votes for him.

Think before you respond to me motherfuc*er

I'm tired of explaining the most basic shit to you.
