Phil Jackson helped a huge deal. Jackson has great motivational skills and expresses team basketball above all, although jordan's usage was still insanely high during all title years. Shaq couldn't even win a finals game until he got super motivated to play under Phil Jackson from 2000-2002 and finally peaked. Shaq seeing what Phil did with Jordan is what motivated the hell out of him. I'm not sure Shaq ever wins a finals game if he didn't have Phil, he probably would of had a Chris Webber type career.
