Are you talking about 2000 when he was with Portland? That Portland team was STACKED with talent. 1-5 loaded deadly gunslingers all around. All they had to do was hold a 15 point 4th quarter lead vs Shaq and Kobe and they would have been 99% certain NBA champs that year.

It was the next year actually. This was the last shot of the series by the way……

ish had me convinced I wasted my life watching kobe cause the guy averaged 15ppg due to injury in the 2000 finals and you people out here hyping up 11ppg series by pippen claiming he's better than MJ
now I don't know what to believe

Kawhi won fmvp with similar ppg
Kawhi averaged 24 on 70% for the last 3 games
Tony Parker averaged 24 ppg and won FMVP
every winning sidekick in 3-pointer history reached 24 ppg or fmvp except Pippen, Pau, Terry, Rip and Horry... But Pippen did it 6 times.

Kawhi didn’t average for that series

Kawhi didn’t average for that series
He averaged 16 on 57%, which is the same thing that rookie Dumas (4th option on the Suns) torched Pippen for in the 93' Finals, while Pippen shot 45% true shooting... This kept the series close and only Jordan's 41 saved the team...
Pippen's garbage stats were always causing loss (88-90, 95', 99-03') or nearly causing loss (92' ECSF, 93', 96-98)

Yeah 1999 was supposed to be Pippen's coming out party finally escaping Jordan's shadow. I even had a poster of the Rockets big three on my wall that I got from a magazine.
Preseason predictions said that Pip was supposed to stop Malone's Jazz and Miller's Pacers again just like the year before enroute to his 7th ring but we all know what happened.

Yikes, even jimmy butler's team last year doesn't compare to that.
