View Full Version : Rajon Rondo wouldn't be in NBA if it wasn't for his term with the CELTICS

He's old, can't shoot, he just brings the ball up court and shouts out orders. If Rondo didn't win the championship with the CELTICS, he'd be an unsigned free agent on the brick of retirement.

Rondo @ this point in his career isn't going to be a main key player on any young teams, his role @ his age would be a key addition on certain young championship ready teams to teach and get those teams over the hump to win a championship, or a nice piece on a championship team that helps them win when certain times the team struggle to score or when the team needs a veteran player with playoff experience that doesn't make mistakes, that's his role, nobody expects Rondo to turn the clock and become a starter on a young team and become the teams leading scorer and super star player, I believe your'e being a little to hard on a 35 year old NBA multiple champion almost out of the NBA, who's trying to still win another championship and earn a paycheck.

rondo is arguably the 2nd most impactful player on the 2020 championship Lakers team after Davis

lebron basically just stat padded while Davis was their defensive anchor and rondo had all the key plays when it was tight.

Well, that's just incorrect.

James didn't stat pad, him; Davis contributed to that championship win & playoff run, Rondo carried the load win the team got cold and couldn't score at times because James; Davis needed rest, everyone else got super hot especially Pope, even Kuzma played well, nobody stat padded, Davis and James were playing at such a high level it was insane, especially Davis, his game was legendary, his only problem is injuries throughout the season, major injuries every year, the Lakers brought Russell in because James is getting older and Davis is injury prone, Russell can carry the load and keep the Lakers at a high seed instead of a lower seed fighting to make the playoffs this gives the Lakers the opinion of constantly resting James throughout the season.

Rondo hasn't been on the Celtics for 7 years. If he was going to get exposed it would have happened by now.

You're saying he keeps landing spots for something he did back in 2008?

Joe Johnson is 2 times the player of Rondo and isn't in the NBA...you know why? because he never played on a championship team

Considering the fact Larry Bird can't run or jump...yes, if you stuck prime Vince in fking 1984 85 86, he'd look like Michael Jordan.

Yes Vince is better then Larry Bird

1. He isn't 2x the player of Rondo.

2. He's 5 years older than Rondo. (40).

I think he can still make an impact. He's nothing what he was in Boston defensively but the games I saw last few years he still plays hard D. He never could shoot, he's probably a better shooter now than he ever was. But he can score when it comes down to it. What he is best at is creating/executing plays and always knowing his surroundings. Dude was Assist Champion 3x after all. To me, he's at worst a top 5 point guard in Celtic history and probably one of the better point guards of the late 00's & early/mid 10's.

Joe played on the summer USA basketball team. He's better then Rondo. Never had a serious injury, can shoot the 3, has a great mid-range game. Limit his minutes and he's more effective then Rondo. He's similar to a smaller version of Anthony.
