The starting five was really good, all of them pulled together. If I have to choose one, I would say Chauncey Billups.

He did shoot 70% ts, but one just has to appreciate Kobes contribution in that series

Shaq-ball was figured out and never won again after that - so he's at fault for not turning the team over to Kobe in time - they should've 3-peated again with Shaq as 2nd option from 04-06', but I guess Shaq was waiting for Wade to become 2nd option

Why did Shaq wait for Wade to become 2nd option - why wouldn't Shaq 3-peat from 04-06' as 2nd option to Kobe? why wait for Wade to become 2nd option?
Kobe is right - if Shaq worked hard and was committed, they would've 3-peated again for sure

If you leave him 1v1 on the low block he'll just overpower you and dunk it on your head. People weren't watching Shaq do that for 12 years and pondering "gee, wonder why I never thought of that". They double Shaq, he kicks it out and you swing it around until you get a good shot or driving lane.

Hornacek and Ostertag ragdolled Shaq-ball in numerous years - swept him 2 years in a row - hakeem and mj swept shaq-ball too, so the pistons doing it was standard

:facepalm I just explained yesterday in another thread the ins and outs of that series:
-Injuries for the Lakers.
-Kobe Bryant shooting too much.
-Overconfidence in the Lakers part.
-Great teamwork from the Pistons, who people forget that went to 5 five straight Eastern Conference Finals and were one game away from repeating.

I started watching ball seriously in the 05 playoffs, so this was slightly before my time. I think Sheed's impact is underrated though. My favorite player.

Heard some good stuff about his defense

He was great offensively too. Could hit the J up to the 3 point line and work the post very well.

3ball is not interested in discussing the ins and outs of things. if you are it's best to ignore.

As another poster said, he had a great, complete offensive skillset too. He wasn't that consistent, though.

You have to be utterly diseased to blame anyone on the Lakers besides Kobe for the 2004 finals.

Shaq won a title with an injured Kobe who averaged like 15 points. He didn't have to "wait" for anyone. Shaq took the bull by the horns, and had one of the greatest series from a FMVP. In 2004? I believe the Lakers would've won with a healthy Karl Malone, but as it was, Kobe shot them out of that series.
This "Shaq ball" you speak of led directly to 3 FMVPs. Kobe had 0.

Yeah right lol. Kobe is lucky to be top 10, and I say that respectfully. If Kobe were 10? He's the WORST finals performer of the group.

Agreed. Can’t think of a player with a bigger discrepancy between their reputation and how they actually played in clutch moments. Comparing him to MJ is absurd, his best season wouldn’t make MJ’s top 8 lol (or even come close tbh)

Kobe literally had more shot attempts in the 04 Finals than Shaq did. Don't be a retard.
