Most winning sidekicks are actually elite 1st options that usually outscore the opposing #1 option and have dominant stats or win FMVP (Curry, Kobe, Wade, AD, Worthy, etc)

It's rare for a winning sidekick to have never won FMVP or achieved elite 1st option stats (true 2nd option).. The only rings won with true 2nd options are Klay, Pippen, Pau, Jason Terry, Rip Hamilton and Horry.

In 3-pointer history (since 1980), the only winning sidekicks that never achieved FMVP or elite 1st option stats in their career (true 2nd options) are Klay, Pippen, Pau, Rip Hamilton, Jason Terry, Lowry and Horry.

Every other winning sidekick achieved 1st option stats or won FMVP (Kareem, Dr. J, McHale, Cedric Maxwell, Dumars, Kobe, Tony Parker, KG, Wade, Kawhi, Kyrie).

So the rings with true 2nd options are more rare and harder - Jordan has 6, so he's goat... Lebron has 0, so he's a fraud that needed super-teams to win, or a superior-producing sidekick - he never won without super-teams as the clear-cut top producer.

^^^ all facts.. but yes, deflect by saying how screwy I am...

And one of the worse sidekicks too to ever win in 2000.

Kobe's 2000 ring is worth as much as JR Smith's 2016 ring.

JR Smith would've been 2nd scoring option on the 90's Bulls

Kobe was the ultimate sidekick

this is true. I was such a great sidekick I outperformed peak shaq at times. most notably in game 7 of the 2000 wcf. the first 3 rounds of the 2001 playoffs and against sanantonio in 2002

I was only 21,22,23 years old and I was better than the most dominant force in league history against the best teams we faced

its why management shipped that fat ass out of town to keep me. I was selected over Shaq. think about that for a minute

I am the true goat

I dont see the knock on my legacy. I did as good as anyone could have done for my age

at 22 I was having a prime jordan playoff run. why hate. appreciate

Nah. Kobe had an excellent playoff run (minus the Finals), but it was not prime Jordan level.

29/7/6? #1 in playoff winshares?, 15-1 record?

that trumps Jordan's 96,97,98 runs and ties 91

Jordan's peak was better in 92 and 93. I said prime

Well I interpreted prime as '88-'93, though I guess you could say that was his peak. And Jordan's '91 playoff run absolutely shits on Kobe's, that has legitimate argument as the greatest playoff run ever.
