I encourage people to be open-minded and willing to adjust their rankings in response to strong evidence. Debate and discussion is encouraged.

Barkley. Of the open tally, he's got the best peak & prime. Some will ask about his defense, but like Magic, Chuck's offense was THAT damn good. Offensively, he had near Jordan level impact.

how am I a troll. and how does assuming someone's a troll void their vote. most people here have an agenda/say stuff to get a reaction. I don't see how someone can just count or not count a vote based on something that can't be know. you have to set parameters for this thing. like a minimum number of posts or time on the board. at least come up with something tangible

this list is basically voided from ever being brought up on here. il just link to this thread and show proof that votes were thrown out to manipulate the outcome.

I'll add your Garnett vote now because Durant is already voted in but stop acting with an obvious agenda. We are trying to create a decent credible list here. I excluded your vote because several posters advised me to. This is a collective project and as such mutual respect and cooperation is expected. If you're not willing to be flexible and accept that others feel about certain players differently than you do then don't participate. Very simple...

My vote goes to the Mailman. I acknowledge he had the weakest peak of the players that will be jostling for this spot, but his resume is simply too accomplished to not get my vote at this point

2 MVP's
14x All-NBA
9 top 5 MVP finishes
2nd all time leading scorer

And for as much shit as he gets for being ringless and underperforming in the playoffs, if not for Jordan's Bulls he most likely has 2 rings & FMVP's to add to that list.

Your point would have some merit if LeBron, Kobe & Durant weren't consistently ranked in the same spots in other rankings as they are here, only Curry's ranking would be different.

ESPN
LeBron: 2
Kobe: 9
Durant: 14

RealGM
LeBron: 1
Kobe: 12
Durant: 22

Backpicks
LeBron: 2
Kobe: 13
Durant: 23

Hoops Habit
LeBron: 2
Kobe: 10
Durant: 13

Durant's obv the most inconsistent since he's still playing and could still add to his resume, but even his averages basically even out to our ranking, while LeBron & Kobe's are consistent across the board. So sadly your musings of us ranking them strictly by agenda comes across as baseless QAnon level conspiracy :lol

Malone avg 20+ every season besides his rookie year and his last year. KG was avg a triple single his last 4-5 seasons lol.

I was looking at his stat page earlier, crazy stuff. And if he hadn't joined the Lakers he may have edged out a final 20ppg season to end his career. If the 99 season wasn't shortened( it's reasonable to assume that would have been another 80 game season for him), and had he stayed with Utah and not gotten injured in 04, he'd have been knocking firmly on Kareem's doorstop.

Well it was only the last 3 years. Sure Malone was scoring 20ppg every year but I think kg was good up til his last year in bos. That’s like 17 years of at least good play. Malone had at least good play from 87-03, that’s also 17 year lol. People overlook kg came into the league early

KG's last 'prime' year was the 08 year when they won. His scoring dipped a bit( not unexpected with Pierce and Allen) but he was generally in the ballpark level-wise of where he had been the last few seasons. If KG was at that level in 2010 than he was in 08 Boston probably beats LA again.

True but I’m discussing meaningful longevity here. he was still playing at an all star level. Malones prime is longer sure but only includes 88-01 then imo. However yes, I think kgs peak is significantly better

True. Although Malone longevity was better than most, he didn't really hit his prime until he was 24. With that said, I will vote for him for #19 if KG takes this spot.

I would too. Both are getting a bit low(I was voting kg in the 12 range) but curry/durant are just better players and will be higher all time once their careers end so I’m okay with them being higher

Edit: actually I’m going Dirk first

D-Rob's prime was very short, although you could make an argument his peak was top 15 all-time level. His defense I feel gets underrated, he was a top 5 defender ever at his peak.

If we were to come up with a list of top 10 peaks, I'm having a hard time thinking he's close to top 10. I don't know, maybe I'm misremembering him for some reason but I just don't rate his peak as high as others here for whatever reason.
