This is what the NBA does (it threatens to fine players for not standing during the anthem). There are few things more un-American than that shit.
Playing the anthem before NBA games serves no purpose (it is a waste of time) and is just a way for the NBA to shamelessly collect money from the Department of Defense. If the DOD weren't giving the NBA money, the NBA most likely wouldn't be playing the anthem before games.
I have no idea when this NBA tradition started, but whoever signed off on this is a shameless, money grubbing, un-American POS.
Anyone who thinks that it is okay to strong arm people into standing for the anthem is an un-American freedom hater with fascist tendencies.
The irony in all of this is that it isn't mandatory to stand during the anthem (according to the anthem code) :lol:oldlol::roll:

Your employer has the right to incentivize you to act accordingly. For NBA players it's fining them, and in the corporate world not dressing professionally will definitely harm your career. It's 100% your right as an American to not stand for the anthem. Do you. And if you don't like what your employer wants from you... don't work for them. Or suffer the fines.

I dont disagree at all... that said, forcing players to stand for the anthem is not nearly as egregious as forcing players and fans to take an experimental vaccine for a virus that poses very little threat to them.

Are they now forcing them to stand? I quit watching the NBA (and all sports for that matter) due to the kneeling. I might possibly consider watching again one day if they can't kneel but to tell you the truth I have not missed sports. The politics pissed me off so much I had no issues tuning out. And for anyone wanting to chime in with the "why are you on an NBA forum if you don't watch" question, if you notice I only post in this section now. My shortcut to the forum takes me straight to this section. Same with the other "sports" forums I have belonged to for a while now, I only go to off-topic and/or politcal discussions.

I would have no issues if they quit playing the anthem. That actually seems like an equitable solution they should have tried before they pissed off so many fans. Yep, I do not spend a dime on any products produced by "woke" companies. I avoid Disney, Target, Coca-Cola, etc..... heck I could go on forever. I am on my third brand of razors due to woke bullcrap. I may soon quit shaving if this keeps up.

You sound like a massive snowflake. You could easily tune in 15 minutes past the starting time of each game and never even notice that issue whatsoever. Tune in after the 1st half if you think it will somehow make the league notice it. And watch it on some illegal stream instead of watching on national tv and contributing to their ratings. If not, then watch vloggers in YT who are following those games in their own screens while commentating their play-by-plays in their videos until they end. Simple as that. Not a big deal at all.
