think he just didnt want to coach anymore. he'll get a few years at least and the celtics definitely trust in his decision making

I don't see how. They got worse over the off-season, have a rookie coach, lost their world-class GM to a franchise with a better future, and have a completely inexperienced person in the aformentioned GM spot. They're pretty clearly a play-in team

They're the current champs, don't see them as a dark horse. Nets and Bucks are contenders though. I put a healthy Heat as an actual dark horse of the Celtics that are mental midgets when it comes to playoff basketball.

Tatum is not an MVP candidate.
Brown is a borderline All-Star.
Al is past his prime.
Smart is ok, but nothing special.
Nesmith has not proven anything.
Shroeder is ok, but nothing special (there is a reason why he didn't get a big contract during the offseason).

I think they have a good roster, let's see how the coaching change goes. I honestly think Brad Stevens was a great coach and he did a very good job, especially in the first years, later on he couldn't get the team over the hump to get to the finals.

True but Toronto isn't an NBA defense. Celtics should be good but Toronto is rebuilding and will be one of the worst teams in the league. Also you may not know this but they didn't have Pascal Siakam who is probably their best overall player.

The celtics seem to have the same problems as they have in the past. There may be some improvement this year, specially from the bench. But overall, 1st-2nd round exit for sure.
Also depends on the capabilities of their head coach.
