For an updated player pool and vote breakdowns see the link (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ARaI3VCNauULLYL1Yu24HIRY768FYQdip56sp6uRFGk/edit?usp=sharing).

Everyone may post in this thread but only votes from serious contributors will be considered. Not everyone has to write an essay but there should be some justification or explanation and some coherent arguments being presented. I encourage people to be open-minded and willing to adjust their rankings in response to strong evidence. Debate and discussion is encouraged.

I feel like I should be voting for Elgin Baylor here, but I look at the list and Sir Charles had a higher peak than Malone( not quite the career) and really shouldn't be more than a few spots behind him at most. So.....

If we aren't going to vote George Mikan, then Elgin Baylor shouldn't be receiving vote consideration either. Granted, he was more skilled and athletic, but he was basically a stat hound who benefited from the era he played in just like Mikan. There is nothing special about him from a player standpoint. You can at least say that about Barkley, and for that, he gets my vote.

Also, what happened to not letting obvious trolls vote on these polls? I see two dumbshits who have already voted for Kawhi Leonard even though he has no business receiving votes right now. Might as well let 3ball vote if we're going to go this route.

True, but then the stats thing would have to apply to others from his era dropping video game numbers as well. Elgin was before my time( so was Wilt, West, Jerry, Russell, and peak Kareem) so I really can't offer much rebuttal or concrete rationale for where I think he should be ranked, only that he seems to pop up in enough top 25 lists that I just kinda feel like he should be receiving votes in this space. That's the tricky thing ranking players separated literally by 50 years or more. Barkley could easily be inside the top 20( and is on many lists), so I don't think he should be slipping much lower than here( and again there shouldn't be much space between him and Mailman on any list).

There are 2 guys already voted in from his era in the teens that can be argued he was the better player. Oscar and his teammate Jerry West.
