Heat could move him , get a couple pieces and make a stink in the playoffs

How do you get value for a guy on a minimum contract? I don't think many teams are going to trade a player on a rookie deal or any first round picks for him.

It's also not as if Miami has many large contracts to pair him with. The large deals are Jimmy, Bam, Lowry, and Duncan who are core pieces they seem to like. Everyone else makes like $6M or less.

I think the long term plan is to keep him the entire season and then use his Bird Rights to exceed the cap and:
A) Sign him long term as a rotation player
B) Use him in a sign and trade

he is making close to 3 mill ... you can get possible veteran that is actually healthy

I think Miami is hoping he is healthy. It's a low risk high reward gamble they are hoping will pay off.

I don't think they will be able to trade for a higher impact player using his $2.39M contract.

It is a gamble / but what I saw last year did not look good.

I still think Lonz Ball would of been a better fit than Lowry / but we will see.

This feels like something worth gambling to keep and try out though.
