The establishment is about to divorce itself from the dysfunctional left as it's not looking to pass carbon regulations due to this "energy crisis" that came out of nowhere.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Biden will not win another term. Congrats.

the reconciliation bill? it's all show. joe manchin is the fall guy because it's convenient for him - he's a dem representing a trump state and has big ties to corporate america - namely big oil & gas (hence climate provisions being removed from the bill). if you do your research (you'll have to know where to look because msm is completely incompetent in this regard), you'll blow your mind learning how corrupt not only he is, but his daughter as well.
the real one getting rolled here is joe biden. it's HIS agenda and he's getting steamrolled by two of his own.
anyway, the $3.5 trillion bill is a drop in the bucket. it's less than 2% of gdp over the course of ten years and something the middle and working class are basically owed after the massive wealth redistribution that took place during the pandemic.

Manchin has millions and millions of dollars invested in coal and oil. He is straight up corrupt. I read about his daughter too - she belongs in jail for how corrupt she has been. I'm all for calling him out on it and humiliating him publicly. Bernie or someone should come out and trash him publicly. I don't understand why nobody has the balls to do it. Go after him publicly, give speeches targeted at him. Mention the fraud that has been his daughter - take the prick down tbh.
Manchin is doing what lieberman did back in 2011 and Obama didn't try harder to push the universal health care when he had the chance all because of lieberman. This is a repeat of that except over renewable energy with Manchin and Biden as president.

It will be a legitimate needle in a haystack chance if he makes it to the end of 2024 still as president, but it will be damn near divine intervention if he both runs AND gets re-elected also regardless of how good or bad he is at his job.

bernie actually did write an op-ed calling out manchin in a west virginia (manchin's home state) paper.
https://www.nationalreview.com/news/manchin-rips-sanders-over-reconciliation-bill-op-ed-in-west-virginia-newspaper/
“This isn’t the first time an out-of-stater has tried to tell West Virginians what is best for them despite having no relationship to our state,” Manchin said in a statement posted on Twitter.
however, apparently west virginians disagree with manchin:
In deep red West Virginia, Biden’s $3.5tn spending proposal is immensely popular (https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/sep/28/west-virginia-joe-biden-spending-plan-popular)
Elizabeth Masters isn’t a natural Joe Biden supporter. A self-described conservative who lives in Parkersburg, in deeply Republican West Virginia, she said she registered to vote in the last election so she could cast a ballot for Donald Trump.
Masters says she doesn’t approve when people “just stand for a handout” – she doesn’t think the United States should be spending money on undocumented immigrants, for example – but says anything that will “help people that are trying to do for themselves, I’m all for it”.
To that end, Masters has found herself supportive of efforts by the Biden administration to pass a $3.5tn budget proposal that is full of ambitious plans to help poorer and working class Americans on a range of social issues from childcare to healthcare.
Though vehemently opposed by Republicans and West Virginia’s own Democratic senator, Joe Manchin, there is some evidence that the proposals contained in the spending plans – which some have likened to the 1930s New Deal – are more popular among grassroots Republicans than their political representatives. That may be especially true in West Virginia, which is a poor, largely white and working class state whose residents would stand to greatly benefit from the Biden effort.

His worst stories by his attackers are about him asking for extra blankets at a hotel. They’re seriously dumb af. He advocates for clean energy which directly goes against the largest energy corps in the world and for med4all which goes against all private healthcare organizations. He stood against Amazon and the real most powerful man in the world(Bezos) during the Alabama union protests. He literally fights against all the possible big donors. And his policies have been consistent for 40+ years.

no, let's start with some evidence of corruption, or at the very least an honest explanation of how it would benefit the clinton foundation to buy off bernie sanders as a us senator. it makes absolutely no sense. the clintons not only hate bernie on a personal level, but their policy platform is status quo 101, not left-wing fiscal progressivism, or socialism/communism as some like to call it. if you want to sit there and repeat one-liner cliche right-wing media talking points that are force-fed to you, you go ahead and do that. it just goes to show that you have no knowledge on the subject, whatsoever.

And the dude's 80 years old. A couple that age who is fairly educated and successful in their respective fields could easily own multiple properties, mainly because they've been in a position to buy for so long they can make purchases when the market is good.
Do you want Bernie Sanders to live in a cardboard box or something? The guy advocates for people to be able to live happy and comfortable lives.
1) medicare for all. Having it saves money.
https://thehill.com/blogs/congress-blog/healthcare/484301-22-studies-agree-medicare-for-all-saves-money
Your taxes go up, but you no longer pay health insurance. No more ridiculous copays when you want to go see a doctor. And you're actually insured this way. There's a reason literally every first world country does this, the corrupt health industry just has their claws sunk so deep into the US it makes it tough to fight. And what is the number one reason people are hesitant about selfemployment? Health insurance for youself, your family and your hires. Now more minimum wage earners getting stiffed out of hours because Walmart wants to phase them out of benefits. I don't want to have to get a part time job just for insurance after I retire.
2) Clean energy. Not going to go into climate change too much. If you still think it's a hoax at this point, nothing's going to convince you.
3) Billionaires need to pay their fair share. Musk's net worth has gone from 26bil in early 2020 to 200bil now. Somehow he can find loopholes to pay no taxes. And I understand net worth isn't necessarily liquid, but he's certainly paying for his new yachts and jets with liquid currency.
Everything he advocates puts a target on his back from the most powerful people in the world. But we want to complain an 80 year old man who is smart with his money and fairly successful has 3 houses.

Instead they find loopholes to avoid taxes altogether. I'm not saying people can't monetize something they're good at and get rich and I'm not demonizing success. Hopefully I can make 7 figures one day. But Capitalism leads to wealth going to the top. The less regulation the faster that process. We're seeing it before our very eyes with the increasing wealth gap. The 1%'ers and big corporations need to be regulated and taxed accordingly. And again an 80 year old who has worked for 50+ years on a decent salary should have the means to own multiple homes if they were smart with their money and credit. Claiming he is for the strictest of communism, but does the most capitalistic job, drug dealing.I don't know his politics and don't really care, but you can support communism and still play ball with capitalism to survive in a CAPITALIST MARKET. Imo, communism can never be implemented in the real world because of corruption. We're seeing it now, corporations are too large to be checked and regulated. That's why they can literally lie to lawmakers, commit fraud, evade taxes right in our faces(see Panama papers) and nothing gets done about it. Communism will be the other way around, with big govt being bigger than the corporations. The best way to move forward is to socialize goods and services that make everyday living convenient(roads, medicine, public transportation), while having a healthy capital economy that regulates the largest corporations(like what the Sherman Act is supposed to do) and support for small businesses. Right now the issue of health insurance pushes out a lot of small businesses. As we become inevitably more globalized corps will become bigger and bigger thus allowing them to deal in even more bulk meaning more barriers of entry for small businesses.

no, it's not. not in my book. corruption is when X pharmaceutical company donates X amount of dollars to senator _______ during his campaign. when said senator is elected, that pharmaceutical company calls him/her up and says: "now remember, i had a hand at putting you in office, you're not going to turn around and lower prescription drug prices are on me, are you? as long as you don't, i'll continue to donate to your campaign and ensure your reelection" . THAT'S the kind of corruption that matters and keeps washington policy working the way it does. that kind of corruption is literally EVERYTHING that is wrong with government and keeps it dysfunctional.

It's never going to work as long as regulators are taking money from the people they're supposed to regulate. All you end up with is a system that has the appearance of regulation, but no real prevention or enforcement, it's what we have now.
That's why the solution isn't to demand more pretend taxation, but instead to demand higher wages. You don't pay properly then we don't work, it's as simple as that and it's something that people can actually control themselves in groups.
Bernie always talk about socialism in Denmark, but they don't have a minimum salary there, instead strong unions where people show solidarity with one another.
In terms of Sanders being corrupt, I don't know about it on a corporate level, but twice he went out and trashed both Clinton and Biden while getting his base riled up and having them donate, only for him to step aside and pass that money on to the campaigns of those same people.
Sure he looked disgusted with himself at that one DNC convention, but he still did the deed at a time when he either shouldn't have stepped aside, or he should have made his own party.
Sanders might sound strong and independent, but in the end his actions were the same as all the other career politicians, sad.

Brilliant take. In Sanders defense, I think he was wise to succumb to the will of his party. I think the opposite would have resulted in anarchy on the level of what we saw with Trump's movement and has that been productive at all for his party or movement?
The objective was achieved: End the Trump regime. But now, they have to back up their words and that's where the inner war is happening with the Democratic party.
