You bring up a valid point: oversaturation of a genre.

I think the key is to subvert expectations; show us something we haven't seen before. From what I've seen in the two trailers, Matt Reeves has done just that. This is a different take for sure: a psychological thriller with strong horror elements. Nolan's films felt more like crime dramas. If anything, this take seems to have taken a lot from Batman Begins, which is awesome.

The cinematography, lighting and set design look A1. Very beautiful, graphic novel-like shots in that trailer.

This one has a very clear vision and passion from the writer/director that separates it from recent formulaic cbm shit imo

I hope it's good, liked the first Burton movie and the Nolan trilogy, didn't care much about the ones after Burton's nor Affleck's ones. Batman is my fave DC superhero and the X-Men from Marvel but Fox Studios churned out a bunch of crap except for the first one and Logan pretty much.

Logan is such an awesome movie (by comic movie standards at least)... that movie alone almost makes up for all the turds fox squeezed out on to that franchise over the years
