To be honest Gasol was better than any 2nd option Hakeem had in '94 & '95 (past prime Drexler in '95).
We also have to factor in the level of competition these #1 options were up against.
For example the Lakers in 2009 played against inferior talent, in 2010 Kobe got bailed out in game 7.

yeah but that draymond thing plus the kyrie shot lol
and kyrie woulda made top 75 had he not sabotaged his own career with mental health issues
but its nice for lebron to have an asterisk spot regardless. enjoy it

The biggest carry jobs..
70's: '75 Rick Barry & '77 Bill Walton (Blazers were ass without him, see no further than 1978 when he got injured)
80's: Hard to pick one, every team was stacked.
90's: Hakeem in '95
00's: '00 Shaq & '03 Duncan
10's: '11 Dirk & '18 LeBron

Give me Gasol baby. Provides the same amount of scoring while being the superior rebounder and gives me rim protection.

and i put us up 3 long before artests 3

I just found out something about Kobe, what he did in the 2010 championship Game 7. How he broke the game down and figured out how to beat us. I can’t give you the insight on that, but I just found that out. Like, maybe 45 minutes ago. It kinda pissed me off a little bit. It’s part of it, but it’s craziness. It’s amazing how he thinks the game, and it’s fun to know that.
2010 NBA finals Game 7:
3:09 left in 3rd - MY 2 point shot ( boston 56 - lakers 49 )
2:21 left in 3rd - MY 11th rebound
1:10 left in 3rd - MY pass to Odom for 2 point layup ( boston 57 - lakers 53 )
8:46 left in 4th - MY 3 points, fouled on shot ( boston 59 - lakers 58 )
5:56 left in 4th - MY 12th rebound
5:56 left in 4th - MY 2 points. fouled on shot ( boston 64 - Lakers 66 )
5:36 left in 4th - MY 13th rebound
5:23 left in 4th - MY 2 point jumpshot ( boston 64 - Lakers 68 )
5:01 left in 4th - MY 14th rebound
4:39 left in 4th - MY assist to Gasols 2 free throws ( boston 64 - lakers 70 )
4:20 left in 4th - MY 15th rebound
3:21 left in 4th - MY 1 point, fouled on dunk attempt ( boston 66 - lakers 71 )
2:47 left in 4th - MY assist to Gasols 2 free throws ( boston 68 - lakers 73 )
1:01 left in 4th - MY assist to Artests 3 pointer ( Boston 73 - Lakers 79 )
0:25 left in 4th - MY 2 points, fouled on drive attempt ( boston 76 - lakers 81 )

had they all stayed on their own teams then they would all still be averaging their highest averages and they were all house hold name superstars. they sacrificed their numbers to form that big 3.
Garnett was 33
Pierce was 32
Ray was 34
33 is usually the end of a players prime. so at most ray was past his by 1 season

oh so 3 superstars vs 1 and a solid sidekick isn't already enough of an advantage?
Allen and Pierce were not superstar caliber players in 2010. By that point Ray Allen was simply an elite three point shooter and Paul Pierce had shown clear signs of decline. Hell, Rondo had already surpassed both of them by that point.
Garnett was Boston's best player, and Pau Gasol consistently outplayed him throughout the finals.
And again, you can point out what Kobe did for the final fourth quarter all you want. The fact of the matter is, Kobe ended that game almost single handingly shooting his team out of the game and costing the Lakers the win. If it wasn't for his teammates stepping up and bailing him out, it would have gone down as the worst game 7 playoff performance of all time, period.

That was the biggest difference between 2008 & 2010, Gasol surpassing Garnett as a player. Gasol even mentioned after a Finals game in 2010 that Garnett had lost some explosiveness compared to 2008.

No, what made up for it was Gasol & Artest saving Kobe's legacy in that game 7.

he has 1 allstar game in 7 years before joining me

That's all cool and all, but in the year in question, 2010... he was the best 2nd option in the NBA and better than any player on the Celtics.

It becomes a pretty thin list

like i said. either gasol got an open look or a free rebound and put back cause nobody blocked him out when they're all focussing on me
same reason artest swooped in for that put back. my presence alone is worthy of finals mvp because it makes everyone elses job 10 times easier

It's unbelievable people are that dumb or weak to put Pippen in the top 75.
For everyone else, it's about how well they played but for Pippen, it's 6 rings

i didn't say my miss was good. my players having nobody blocking them out or even trying to cover them because they're all glued to me or mesmerized by me is good for them and a major plus to 50/50 plays
which is what it takes to win the title a lot of the time. you need those to go your way. i can't make every shot. if i was just some scrub nobody cared about taking a shot like lebron then my misses might actually hurt us
