You could honestly even argue them making the top 50, or being just outside it. But to not even make the top 75? The league fcked up on that one.
The league is stupid as shit for this. Disgraceful.

McGrady lives off one great season that included a playoff choke. He was a great talent, but not consistently a great player IMO.
Dwight on the other hand... clearly deserved it on merit. Guess hes just seen as too big a d0uchebag for people to vote for him
Dwight's efforts for making the finals in 2009 is applaudable, although they defeated a celtic team without kg along the way.
Otoh, despite his flashiness and potential back then, t-mac in his peak or as the leader of his team didn't have something close to that. So his highlights are limited to the rs.

Dwight even carried the Lakers to their 2020 title. He definitely should be on the list.

McGrady and Dwight and the 75 version of McAdoo and Nique from 50.
I mean really, what separates Nique and McGrady at their peak? Nique lasted slightly longer but McGrady was the 1st ballot Hall of Famer. Dominique didn't get in until his 2nd try.

Not really. There was absolutely no reason for them to be up 3-1 in the first place.
Pat Garrity was the second most effective player on the team in that series. It's outrageous that they even made the playoffs much less being up 3-1 on the Pistons.
But outside of that season he was still nasty. The early 00s Magic were legitimately bad. He had the one year where he was stupid and never reached those heights again but a lot of great players we talk about wouldn't even be remembered if they were in that situation. He did things that most people couldn't do and was/is duly recognized for that.

i think you're confusing talent/skill with roids/travels/stiff arms and flops
no way me and those other 4 guys ever air ball a free throw let alone 20+

Yeah but thats part of the point. An iso star on a so-so team usually sees inflated numbers. Yes he had a ridonkulous statistical season and a couple scoring titles... but it never translated to much. Dont get me wrong, he obviously had elite talent. But never really had the heart to match.
I normally dont hold individuals responsible for team results, but a top-75-all-time guy who never made a team relevant ONCE? He never once made a team look like a real contender. To me that cant be a coincidence, and tells me his image is a bit grander than his impact.

Kawhi has already had a better career then both of them, easily.
Who would you take off the list for those guys? Dwight is Gobert on roids and Mcgrady had 1 legendary season in 03 and never returned to that level.

Blew a 3-1 lead despite being heavy favorites against 7'1 brian windhorst and co.

He had his chances in houston. Well, he was already older that time but i find it astonishing that the team succeeded well to advance in the wcsf during his absence in 09 to face kobe and the lakers, even taking them to 7 games before bowing out when in the preceding two years, they got wiped out in the first round when he was present in the postseason.

They had to put Pippen in there - too many media members invested in that one

Comparing Iggy & Pippen as 1st options in Playoffs against East champs (Dwight/Ewing)
Iguodala 2009 Playoffs vs Dwight.... 21.5... 6.3... 6.7... 44.9%... lost in 6 (no kukoc miracle)
Pippen 1994 Playoffs vs Ewing......... 21.7... 7.7... 4.7... 40.5%... lost in 7 (kukoc miracle)
Pippen was an Iggy-level player that was simply lucky to play alongside the GOAT in a 2-star vs 2-star format (90's) - anyone wins alongisde the goat in that format.

^^^ This clearly demonstrate how Pippen or Iggy aren't on Dwight's level, who was snubbed (or Ewing's, who was not).. Both Dwight/Ewing had 1-star teams

Dwight is the biggest snub for sure. He has 5 all-NBA 1st team selections, while the following players who did make the list have a combined total of 0.
Ray Allen
Reggie Miller
Carmelo Anthony
Paul Pierce
And while Dwight was a 3-time Defensive player of the year, it's safe to say these 4 other players weren't exactly know for their lockdown defense.

I don't have any issue with Tracy not making it. But there's no reason as to why Dwight shouldn't have.

He's also led his team to a finals and even has a ring.

^^^ and that's the thing - if bs media awards like All-NBA don't mean anything (1st team no less), then why is Pippen in there again?.. politics only
