When is he coming back? Will he have enough games? I thought this season would be a wash.

Booker will get an MVP before Kawhi and thats on the chance that Kawhi doesnt play a full season because of his degenerative knee tendinopathy issues holding him back.

He has already been robbed out of 3 different MVPS: 2016, 2017, 2020.

2016 when he led his team to a 40-1 home record and best net rating with no two teammates as good as Dray\Klay.

Then he got screwed in 2017 when he was #1 in overall RAPTOR and media fell for Westchuck's triple double crap instead

2020 he instantly turned clippers into an elite team while george started the season on injured list. Kawhi also played just 69 total minutes less then the actual MVP Giannis, so i would say he should of won it that season as well due to being better then Giannis and carrying a similar minute load.

All seriousness though 21/7/3 would legitimately be the worst MVP statline in the history of the league. Only Wes Unseld would be in the discussion.

I’d be happy to see him play regular season games consistently. Let us start from their first.

Will we ever seen Kawhi average 19+ against a healthy team in the Finals?

I don't think so, he load-manages too many games to even be considered for that honor.

Saying anyone besides Curry deserved regular season MVP in 2016, let alone Kawhi, is permaban worthy.

You really shouldnt permaban over opinions but that dude is sniffing too much line for his own good. Curry was unanimous for a reason

league mvps are just a team, health, narrative award. it's almost never been a best player award. if it was lebron or Durant would have won the thing at least once over the past 7 years lol

Durant, myself and shaq having 1 award just shows its like some times magazine cover man of the year type thing. its completely subjective and not based on any real criteria

Shaq should have more than one, but what other season should Durant have been MVP? And let’s be real, Kobe’s lucky to have one, ‘08 could have easily went to CP3.

Didn't Kobe violate CP3 head to head towards the end of the season? CP3 was euthanized if I remember correctly. So No, it wasn't "easily" could have went another way. In fact it was a pretty obvious choice and it was a make up for him losing it in 2006

Yes, CP3 could've easily won MVP that season. Doesn't mean Kobe didn't have a legitimate claim, but that was a closely contested MVP that I still see debated to this day. Claiming Kobe was the obvious choice is ridiculous and revisionist history. As is the notion he was some obvious choice for '06 :lol

again. this is why it's not a best player award. youre thinking in terms of the criteria that has kept it out of the best players hands as to why we shouldn't have won it

my argument is that the most valuable/best player shouldn't need a top seed or an outstanding story to win it. defense should have a ton of value for the award. so should how spectacular you've been. how individually dominant you were. your respect from other players should be taken into consideration. whether or not youre just taking advantage of a system. if your teammates are hurt. if you did something historic etc...

its so easy to just give it to a system guy like Duncan in 2003 and not a far more dominant individual talent that had to deal with major injuries to teammates like myself

or how defense wasn't even factored when giving it to nash over me. how how he had way more help

the league mvp should never go to just some guy who's having a good year on a great team. there should be a prerequisite that it must go to one of the top players. jokic shouldn't have won mvp over embiid. sure he missed games but jokic isn't a transcendent player. embiid actually has the highest point per minute average in nba history. you just know he will end up a legend. jokic might flame out. we should never give mvps out to guys you aren't 100% certain are one of the top 3 or 4 players in the nba

nash getting it was a throw away. Shaq shoukda got it in 2005 and I shoulda got it in 2006. even nick Wright admitted it

sometimes you gotta bend the rules and make an exception when a legendary player is having a legendary season. my 2006 lakers wouldn't win 5 games without me. the sun's still probly squeak into the playoffs without nash

In 2005, Amare led the Suns with 26pts and 2nd in rebounding at 9 a game. They won 62gms.

Next season, Stat got hurt the 3rd game of season and was done for the year. Still won 54gms and finished 1st in their division.

There's your example of teammates being hurt but Nash still delivered.

it doesn't matter. they had a deep roster and a system that made nash look better than he actually was. nash wasn't a top 5 player in the nba. he had zero defensive skills and I was 1st team all defense. he was a great passer but I was averaging 35 and dropping 40 every other game. my team needed me more

you talk about the sun's not having amare. sorry but whoever filled in for him at center was probly twice the player kwame was

We saw what Kobe did the following year without Shaq for the first time.

Not even comparable to what Nash did without Stat.

you mean the season I had our team in the playoffs like 10 games over 500 after 2 months into the year then Rudy T randomly steps down due to health problems and me/Odom both go down for 20 games each

yeah ok I guess you can void everything lebron ever did cause of 2019

Why did you miss the playoffs in 2013

why did you fail as a lawyer. do they have a minimum height requirement to approach the bench

LA's top 6 or 7 missed like a combined 140gms in 2019. Not even close to comparing to the 2005 Lakers situation.

hey.. if you're happy with lebron not winning mvp since almost a decade ago due to the media's flip-flopping on their agenda/criteria then go right ahead of puff your chest out about nash winning it over me. but if you wanna say nash was better in 2006 because of it then lebron hasn't been the best player since 2013

Did you replace those starters with bottom of the bench guys like 2019 LA had to?

well think of it this way. kwame and smush were in the starting lineup in 2006 and we were better than 2005
