I'm in halifax ns but i used to go up t.o every summer to see friends and fam up there. First time i saw one of the great lakes i couldn't believe it. We have alot of lakes in ns but they aren't anywhere near the size of those things. We have alot of ocean though. That's what the great lakes look like.

Oh so YOURE the one black dude in Nova Scotia. Interesting.

I’d heard the rumors about there being one. Had no idea it was you.

Good stuff.

Lake Superior is the second largest lake in the world (formed by a volcano ) and largest in NA.

Lake Erie gets comfortably warm in the summer, and so becomes very nice to swim in or jet ski or be around in the summer but the downside is of the great lakes, lake erie is the most likely to algae bloom due to all the farming products that leak their way into it which makes it a bad idea to swim on particular days (usually after rain). Superior and some of the northern ones don't have this problem but are probably cold and maybe not as pleasant to swim in. I'm only speculating on this but my guess is southern portions of Lake Michigan and Ontario could also be nice to swim and hang out at the beach though. Great Lakes are kinda like a "North Coast" and at least around Southern Lake M., Lake Erie, and Ontario that I've been to it's usually nice with lots of parks and coastal vibes when you're near the shores in many places.

I annually trip to Lake Superior. I call it my inland sea , and quit frankly it is.
My wife and my self have walked miles without seeing another person on its shores.
She had driven and camped around the whole circumference of the lake.
Many have bicycle camped around it as well.
Have never been on the Canada's north shore , but the water is supposed to be a blue tint clear .
I have seen vids of canoeists in that area.
One of the most spectacular scenes is to go to Grand Maria in the Michigans U.P. and see a 2+ mile sand dune right at the foot of the lake that is at least 250' high. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3DHrS4BbAY
My favorite place is Agate bay... very peaceful and serine.
