The Lakers have appeared to have figured this out. By screening in a North-South angle -- also known as a flat screen -- defenders can't go under.

Off the ball, Russ needs to set pindown screens for shooters. It keeps his man defender focused on him and the guy he's screening for. It takes his attention away from the ballhandler; he's not able to provide sagging help defense.
