Obviously Giannis doesn't have the career to warrant an overall comparison to Lebron but his numbers are up there and he's a more impactful defender. I don't think it's a stupid comparison in all honesty. There is a solid case that Giannis' peak is top 10 all time.

2021 Giannis

Season: 28.1/11.0/5.9 on 63.3 %TS (+6.2 rTS) with 3.4 to
Playoffs: 30.2/12.8/5.1 on 59.9 %TS (+2.8 rTS) with 3.0 to
Finals: 35.2/13.2/5.0 on 65.8 %TS (+7.7 rTS) with 2.3 to

His production's impressive, but you'd have to ignore so much context to make a claim like this. Virtually every team having significant injuries, KD outplaying him h2h, and even the Bucks winning b2b games without him to clinch the conference.

And the fact you didn't even ask this about someone like Bird, Magic or Duncan, but made this about LeBron, knowing your posting history, just reeks of agenda.

Still steaming he couldn’t keep LeBron out of the top 2 on his dumb list lmao

Instead of assuming I have an agenda, why not post something informative and maybe answer the question in the OP?

What is my posting history by the way? I'm not a stan of any player. I have Lebron as #4 all time and he has a case (although IMO weak case) for #1. I don't see why every single thread related to Lebron has to be an agenda thread. On this ****en forum it seems like it is.

Play it off as oblivious as you like, but there's a clear and unmistakable trend in your threads

Wait... so because I think MJ is better than Lebron and made a few threads I automatically have to have an agenda?

They're cornered right now.

Can't go by stats because Giannis's are more impressive across the board when accounting for points, steals, rebounding, and blocks.

Damn.

People keep talking about how Giannis faced injured teams and that's a valid criticism but a championship is a team accomplishment. Giannis still played at an amazingly high level individually title or no title. However I find a much better argument against him is the mediocre quality of defenses that he faced. The Heat, Nets, Hawks and Suns had DRtg of 111.2 (7th), 113.8 (23rd), 113.3 (21st) and 111.3 (9th). It's much easier to put up numbers when you're facing bad defensive teams not just within the league but historically. Those DRtg's are super high. Until 2020 and 2021, Lebron never in his playoff career faced defenses that bad.

With that taken into account I would take 2009, 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2017 Lebron over 2021 Giannis. 2013 and 2017 are the toughest sells but I'd still go with Lebron. 2013 playoffs Lebron was quite mediocre offensively and in 2017 he failed to win a title and played bad defense in the finals so even though I go with Lebron those two years I find them arguable. 2009 Lebron didn't win it all but was just a monster. It was his best season ever IMO. 2012 and 2016 are also pretty great, 2012 more so on offense and 2016 more so on defense.

Lebron struggled a lot scoring the ball for my liking in both the Bulls and the Spurs series. Yes those are good defenses compared to what Giannis faced so I mentally adjust his numbers upwards but Giannis was probably better on defense too. I give Lebron the edge due to intangibles but it's debatable.
