Infamy is fame but for very bad reasons. Like a Hitler or Elliot Rodgers. If you had the choice of being forgotten completely vs being remembered - but infamously - which would you choose? Let's say in this hypothetical that you don't actually commit any wrong doing you just get falsely accused of it so you aren't in control of the narrative and have no real guilt. If you choose being completely forgotten any evidence that you ever existed will be erased.

This. In a million years there won't be a single human to have ever existed that is remembered. And that's a blink of an eye compared to the existence of the universe. Time washes everything away.

So your answer is to be forgotten. There is a point to the hypothetical though as there is truth in the fact that infamy has staying power. Infamous people endure in history probably orders of magnitude longer than ordinary people and so again the option is infamy or being swiftly erased from all records and memories. No grave, no paper trail lets say your records just get lost and nobody remembers you or carries your memory on.

Both bill gates or elon musk could end up being one of the richest men in the world. But do toddlers know about that tho?

I'd say every guy would like to pass on his genes , and therefore he would have a history of at least 100 years.
I am in a dog club , and because of this I feel I would be forgotten for at least 50-100 years...
Originally I was going to donate a farm to the club , but decided it would be in best interest to pass on to a family that is in the dog club and take care of the property.
I am hoping if not from generation to generation , it would be passed onto another dog club member.

It ultimately doesn't matter, even if you were remembered you're still dead. But to the thread question, why would I want to be remembered for doing something terrible?

He's basically asking how big is your ego.

Some people would rather be remembered for anything than nothing.

I don't care. I'm dead. From my personal point of view, which is the only one that matters, the universe ceased to exist the moment I drew my last breath. What happens after that don't matter in the slightest.

I have no problem with being forgotten, and generally speaking I dont want to be infamous... but I might make an exception if I am infamous for doing something kinda based like Chris Dorner or David Koresh.

I just know introducing the concept of stranger to a child is just excluding a child from the society

Huh where tf did i say that he was? I only mentioned him because the world was in disarray when tragedy struck him and took his life, as well his daughter and everyone on board that chopper they rode last year. But that won't matter anymore because like what you've said earlier, they're dead and gone already. Anyway you've been being a bitch lately. :ohwell:
