The 14-17' Cavs were bad 50-win teams, not 3-peat champs.. Lebron didn't build those teams up anywhere near as high as Jordan built those Bulls.. So it's apples and oranges - when Lebron builds a 3-peat team and they barely win without him, then you'll have a case... But don't try to compare the absolute trash team ceilings that Lebron yields to the goat team ceilings that Jordan yields - that method rewards Lebron for having crappy, 50-win teams and punishes Jordan for leading his team to far loftier heights.

Btw, the Bulls were only decent as defending 3-peat champs - once that luster and edge was gone, the Bulls were borderline lottery in 95' until Jordan returned to restore 3-peat caliber.

So Jordan built a lottery team into 3-peat champion from 87' to 93', and he turned a borderline lottery team in 95' to 3-peat - so he did it quicker the 2nd time because he already knew how to do it.
