The Italian Higher Institute of Health has drastically reduced the country’s official COVID death toll number by over 97 per cent after changing the definition of a fatality to someone who died from COVID rather than with COVID.
Italian newspaper Il Tempo reports that the Institute has revised downward the number of people who have died from COVID rather than with COVID from 130,000 to under 4,000.
Of the of the 130,468 deaths registered as official COVID deaths since the start of the pandemic, only 3,783 are directly attributable to the virus alone.
“All the other Italians who lost their lives had from between one and five pre-existing diseases. Of those aged over 67 who died, 7% had more than three co-morbidities, and 18% at least two,” writes Young.
“According to the Institute, 65.8% of Italians who died after being infected with Covid were ill with arterial hypertension (high blood pressure), 23.5% had dementia, 29.3% had diabetes, and 24.8% atrial fibrillation. Add to that, 17.4% had lung problems, 16.3% had had cancer in the last five years and 15.7% suffered from previous heart failures.”
The Institute’s new definition of a COVID death means that COVID has killed fewer people in Italy than (whisper it) the average bout of seasonal flu.

If the US were to follow suit, the US' total death number would then equal only 44,993 as 94% of covid deaths were deaths "with" covid, not "from" covid with the average covid death averaging an additional 2.9 comorbidities based on the CDC's last report. https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/health_policy/covid19-comorbidity-expanded-12092020-508.pdf

Covid still contributed to their deaths and they wouldn't have died when they did if they didn't contract Covid. This data just means that most of those people had pre-existing conditions. This isn't news. We've known this for ages. It doesn't mean that Covid didn't kill most of those people. Not "directly attributable to virus alone" doesn't mean the deaths aren't attributable to the virus.
With that said...
There is a small number of Covid deaths that are actually unrelated to Covid. For instance a guy gets into a hospital with concussion symptoms after a car crash, gets a screening test for Covid and is positive. A day later he dies from his brain injuries. He died with Covid and is counted as a Covid death. His death obviously has nothing to do with Covid and yet is counted as a Covid death. These cases should be subtracted from the totals.

Dont a large percentage of those deaths with "pre-existing" conditions potentially fit in this category? How many of the seniors with pre-existing conditions that supposedly died of covid never had any symptoms and just had a positive test during their autopsy?

LMAO must be from AIER sponsored by Koch and his Oil tycoon cohorts. They were cherrypicking datas to inject doubts. Now they are taking it to another level , creating websites to build narrative. Same with research studies promoted by same crew , copy paste and all that. No wonder when a third party auditor ask for raw datas, they can’t provide anything.
This is all becoming political and actually both sides utilizing it. No wonder we took it worst.

There's a bit of a gray area. I can't prove it but it's a clinical reality. Cause of death is always kind of a slippery slope.
Anyways if you have a problem with the cause of death just look at excess mortality which you can get from the totals of how many people die year by year. Assuming cardiovascular disease, cancer, accidents etc. are all roughly the same the extra deaths or excess mortality was caused by Covid... For most countries like USA, Italy, Canada that I've seen, excess mortality is roughly 80% of their Covid death total which shows some overreporting of Covid deaths (about 20%) but the bottom line is Covid still kills a lot of people... and again that's before all the people that may die down the line because of Long Covid and its morbidities like myocarditis, kidney damage etc. The deaths from the Covid pandemic may still happen a decade from now or even later.

I believe covid is real i just don't agree with the nonsensical mandates. This is a pandemic of the old and unhealthy. Mandating younger healthy people to get a vaccine for something that dosn't significantly effect them makes zero sense.
