It's a classic example of today's players knowing how to take 2.9 steps on one dribble.
He was still gathering on the first step so that doesn't count, even though it should.
Technically not a travel. But as I said, it should be.

That's a travel. Well, it used to be considered a travel. He definitely took 3 steps before he dunked the ball. But this is a normal occurrence nowadays.

NO But novice refs, over critical refs, old heads, casual fans and PG haters will call it a travel.

it used to be a travel but the rule changed from 1.5 steps to 2 steps and now a "2 count" which makes no sense whatsoever

It is not just the "gather"- or "zerostep" creating loopholes these days, players get away with carrying the ball all the time and the talkingheads call it "great handles". gtfo

It's all because of the 'star whistle' culture in the NBA. All of those moves would be called travel for an average rookie. In NBA you have to 'earn' your whistles. So stupid.

I think it was, but only after watching it a few times in slow mo. The first step was very close to being part of the gather. Close enough that not calling it a travel is a fair call.

Curry travels at least 3 times per game and never gets called.

Mitchell with two blatant travels in one sequence.
Talk about fundamentals, many of these "professionals" don't seem to have them!!!

You guys think Kyrie carries? A lot of his moves seem like it but I haven't really broken them down in slow mo.
