...thanks to the dems and their salt deduction as a part of the 'social infrastucture' bill IF it passes. with a price tag of 3 billion (for the salt deduction), it's the single largest cost within the bill. lower earners in the hundreds of thousands will benefit somewhat as well, but 90% of this goes to the top 1% of earners. middle class taxes COULD go up, as well as could child care costs.

...but the dems are the lesser of two evils! my ass. they're one in the same with republicans economically, they only truly differ when it comes to culture war issues. they all bow to the same donors.

Sounds good.

Let me know if there’s anything I can do.

How much does it cost? Who pushed it into the bill?

The SALT cut is specifically designed to benefit the democrats donor base - aka high income (500k+) individuals that live in areas like NYC or SF that have very high state and local taxes.

3 billion dollars? The entire bill is 1,750,000,000,000 and you are concerned about 0.17% of it?

my mistake - $285 billion. it's the second most expensive provision in the bill.

I'm not quite at the income level to benefit from this. Getting close though, maybe in 2 years.

One thing that gets overlooked is that anyone is allowed to claim all sorts of tax deductions. And it's easy, especially under an LLC. Another thing that gets overlooked is how happy and quickly, if eligible, anyone will apply a deduction, even loser leftists like rrr3, bladefd, jasper, racistLegend32, axe. Or the few that actually work.

But like Nanners pointed out, this specific tax cut is to benefit certain donors of the democrat base.
